I would rather them take one of the Safeties at 16 (and I really don't want one at 16). I would rather reach a tad for Jernigan or D.Lawrence at 16. Just don't like the idea of Shazier or Mosely at 16.

Trade down and take one...sure.

Just don't like it at 16 and I think I would rather take other players that are rated higher or around the same area that fit on the D-Line or S spot if we are sticking to defense.

Frankly sticking to defense no matter what at 16 Is silly IMO because you trap yourself into taking a player like Shazier who is not rated that high.

I don't like Mosley at 16 either but Shazier brings something different IMO. I am not against offense all together if somehow Lewan was to fall or Beckam/Evans was there. But I have Martin and Shazier ranked very similarly so it makes the choice easy for me. Honestly at this point I am just hoping they don't trade up for anybody and they don't take Manziel. Hoping for Barr, Donald, Shazier, or Beckam at 16 or a trade back.

Sounds like we are in the same boat...we would just swap your martin/shazier.

I don't get the love for Shazier after watching some tape. He looks more like a safety playing linebacker to me. No chance at becoming a DE.

2nd round or later sure, but I'm not interested in the 1st, especially not at 16.

Give me Martin. And I would prefer Crichton or Attaochu in the 2nd over Shazier.

Chrighton would be our 7th LDE on the roster lol. He is a solid player but wouldn't fit in here IMO

I'm assuming the Cowboys disagree with you considering they brought him in for a visit.

I just don't see the value of Shazier in the 1st when at best he splits time with Carter. Holloman also showed promise last year.

Personally, I hope Donald is there, then Barr or Martin.

Problem with Barr is I only see him as a part time player for a season or 2. If they go with Beckham, I wouldn't be thrilled but I would understand the pick. Dez has back issues and doesn't really move from his position. Beckham could play the slot or outside and give us some security at the position.

I don't see him splitting time with Carter at all.. I think he would kick Carter to the strong side which would allow him to only focus on going after the ball which could be helpful and potentially make our LB corps as a strength. Holloman would be a utility guy that could fill in at all 3 spots. Also allows you to comfortably cut Durant and use that 2 million towards something of more value or towards an extension.

Melton plays the 3, but I understand your point. Melton might be close to done in his career with that knee. That's why they gave him such an incentive-laden deal.

And on 3rd and long, you want two smaller guys in there to rush the QB. Can't have enough of these guys.

my mistake. I thought I read that melton plays the 1 technique.....I stand corrected.

Not a fan of moving Carter. He struggled after moving to 4-3 at WLB, now we move him again. I don't like it.
