It's hard for me to care about football/Cowboys anymore

It’s really about Jerry wanting to work with his family more than anything else. It’s not about making the right moves versus the family moves. Sure, they would like all that nepotism to pay off with a championship. But, it’s not at the top of his list. He summed it up pretty nicely in his “Landman” appearance.
Ahh that’s where that quote is from. I heard most of that, haven’t seen the show just yet.

Well, yeah. That’s what makes him a selfish prick. The results are constant failure, and now more than ever, he is basically telling the fans…’too bad.’

He may have bought the team, he may reserve the right to “own” it or run it how he sees fit, but the Dallas Cowboys are a public institution that are bigger than him.

Don’t tell his ego that or he will threaten to ruin you.

I hear you but even back in 2000-02 they were at least 5-6 years removed from winning a super bowl. Then Jerrah hired Parcess because he needed a new stadium which gave us hope. Now? This is an all time low. It's been so long since 96 and the ceiling with Jerry Jones as the GM is a divisional round appearance in the playoffs that's it. It's sad that we have to wait the guy out until he dies for us to have any hope. This is by far the darkest and longest period of being a Cowboys fan with zero light at the end of the tunnel. Once you realize that then the Cowboys become non important to you which they did this last season for me.
It hit me a few days ago that during that dark era that the team was only 5-7 years since from the last SB run. There was at least hope that they could go back once they found a QB...Especially after the talks of Parcells coming here.
Didn't feel like that long ago till recently.
Right now, not much for me to get excited about.

Yeah I think this is almost more important than them winning 10 games next season. Fans want to see something other than the same approach that has now failed for the last 15 years.
I agree. 3 times going 12-5 with little postseason success really has jaded the accomplishment of winning 12 games.

last offseason/season have really done a number on me. I get almost no joy from watching or following The Cowboys anymore, I’m checking into podcast/groups out of 20yrs of habit. I don’t see any evidence that the joneses actually care about winning, Jerry seems much more interested in being a star and Stephen seems to take a cowardly approach to everything. I’m a fan of Dallas because I’m from DFW but I don’t want to be a fan of a team that has 0 motivation to win championships. It would be a different story if I could point to things that the organization is doing to try and win but I can’t find any.
Jerry Jones clown show takes all the wind out of the sails.

I come here mainly due to being a member for almost 20 years more-so than being excited about the Cowboys.
My optimism for the Cowboys is at an all time low. Like 2000-02 levels, but back then I had more hopium on young guys developing.
Yep. It’s only happened recently, but I have completely given up on winning anytime soon, or under the current circumstances.

I hate that guy so much for that, and I’m to where I just want him to fail and humiliate himself. That’s what one man’s ego has done to the NFL for me.

At least I don’t have to root too hard for Jerry’s failure, he’s got that part handled and this team is headed directly into the toilet. That should be fun as he approaches 90 and still insists on pushing his nonsense.

The organization that used to represent the class of the league, is now based on a complete lie and sham, just so ego boy can take his “credit” should things happen to go well. They aren’t qualified and misevaluate just about everything, yet refuse change and spew a constant stream of excuses for their ineptitude.

My BFF @Risen Star posted something several weeks ago that really stuck with me, along the lines of even if they happen to get lucky and actually win something, it would be tainted due to the hatred of the clowns in charge.

Both literally and figuratively, that’s quite the no-win situation.

It’s not even the losing. Sometimes you lose and it’s a down period, but this is just different. It’s a clown show of a franchise because of Jerry. This was once the most proud franchise in all of sports, now it’s been degraded to a circus show. Pathetic!!

He won his Superbowls already. He's just trying to get richer and richer and he "knows" he's smarter than us.

I found myself rooting for Jerry and Dak to get exposed and embarrassed this year.

There's a fine line between love and hate, and apparently I'm straddling it.

I live in Maryland.. I wish I could love the Ravens the way I love the Cowboys. I'm trying.. I'm trying.

You can see the apathy in the Cowboys stadium crowd. Watch other games and how energetic and LOUD their fan base gets. The Cowboys fans sit on their hands the whole time. Even at home I'll check in on the score but l'm usually busy doing something else nowadays. The Cowboys games are no longer my priority.

Over the past 12 years or so, I've found myself enjoying moments like seeing Jerry stewing in the owner’s box during embarrassing losses more than their wins. It's been a gradual decline for me. For many fans, the playoff loss to Green Bay was a wake-up call, but honestly, I wasn’t surprised or even disappointed when it happened.

It feels like the plan is to stick with McCarthy until Dak’s contract runs out—staying in their comfort zone and trying to remain relevant without making meaningful changes. At this point, I can probably count on one hand the players I genuinely like on the team. Meanwhile, I can’t stand listening to Jerry or Stephen with their endless excuses and babbling.

Lately, I’ve found more enjoyment watching teams like Detroit and Kansas City. Maybe it’s time to put my Dallas fandom on the back burner for a while. Reading this back, it seems like I might already have done that!

With Jerry launching his acting career, they can’t have the team in a down period.

They have kept Dak, they will keep McCarthy….both of which could potentially do good things with the right supporting cast….yet not provide that support due to being unqualified to recognize and read the situation, and/or just flat out being cheap.

They will not be a 3-4 win team, but also not get past the WC round. Perpetual mediocrity.

I played golf three times during Cowboys games and never once looked at the score. Also didn't watch the last game because I didn't feel like finding a stream.

Felt great not caring

I totally agree!! After I missed that Bucs game this season, that was it for me, never thought i'd find joy in missing a cowboys game. Now I feel like I can do it more
So does this mean a lot less threads? :lmao:

LOL this thread reads very much like a Commodes site during the Danny Snyder Era. Too bad none of the Jerry Jones drunk scandals resulted in forcing him to sell the team!

The offseason did it for me. Every team in our division got better and we let good players go and got little to replace them. That, after Jerry Jones said we are all in. Slap in the face to us fans. I didnt even watch a game this year. I was scheduling a trip to see a game for the first time and I canceled that. Wont give that man a penny of my money.

Maybe I'm just getting old and loosing interest but this is the first season I can remember someone asking me what time a game was on and I had no clue. Also, switched many games to redzone, cared more about my fantasy team this year.
Funny you say that....last year I woke up on Sunday Sept 3rd and around 9AM looked to see what time kickoff was....not knowing the opener wasn't until the FOLLOWING WEEKEND....I left like an idiot, but then I didn't....it wasn't my fault that apathy had totally set in....there was a day that by the end of July, I had the first six (6) games memorized...home and away...for the first time in 49 years, there were several games this year that I barely watched....my Dodgers were head to head with them during the opener @ Cleveland, and I didn't watch ONE MINUTE.....of course, most of that had to do with my head exploding over the Dim extension announcement hours earlier.
