It's time for Micah to be given the opportunity to play running back on offense

Can’t imagine putting best defensive player in a spot where everyone on the field wants to hit him close to or right at his knees. I imagine the opposing teams would be thrilled if the Cowboys did it.
Yeah like the offensive lineman treat him with kid gloves get a clue please this is football.

It's protect yourself at all times no matter where you're playing

Quickdraw said:
The running game would be a little better if we returned to the 2 back system. The other day when Pollard scored that 1 yard TD, he had Vaughn in front of him blocking for him. Similar to when Moose Johnson blocked for Emmitt. The other thing would be to use less shotgun/run. If it's a run, the back has no momentum before getting the ball.

Actually, it was Hunter Luepke, not Vaughn, doing the lead blocking for Pollard on that play. And, yes, I'd like to see more of that.
Now that makes a lot more sense he's got some beef and is big enough to take on someone substantial

I love all you people that say how crazy it is to use Micah as a running back but have no reason why it's not a good idea other than we haven't done it yet.

And if we do it and all of a sudden he gets an important first down rips along run or takes the ball in for a touchdown it will be the greatest thing since canned beer.
Then why has nobody used him that way since he was a teenager ........ people that know a lifetime more about football than you.

Just an absolutely stupid idea from the madden generation.

I could see that happening it would be seriously wrong but I could see it happening just cuz he's been saying something about the refs not calling it
It's an intriguing idea for sure, but what does growing up in PA have anything to do with it? Are all the people in PA related to Superman?

However, another thing is that as soon as he lines up at running back the other team is going to key on to him big time. If he were to have done it a few times during the season that might have made a difference. But if he did practice a few play as you suggested I'm sure he could do it.

It hasn't been necessary up to now and you don't know what kind of an idea it is until it's tried

Please try and bring something intelligent to the conversation or go troll somewhere else
I did. You just didn't like it, so you resort to the customary insults when you don't get the response you want.

Not related to Superman but a lot of good football players have come out of Pennsylvania and we're pretty much trained with ball security being job one.

I also said earlier in the thread that at worst he could be an incredible decoy because every eye in the stadium would be keyed on him.
That said I wouldn't be surprised if they practiced him at running back and kept it quiet and under wraps and maybe have a play or two for him in certain situations.

Maybe....and I mean maybe it would be an interesting idea to hand him the ball in a goal line or short yardage situation where he's bascially just running into the pile and you could use someone with some size/power to them. Absolutely zero chance I want Parsons in a position where he has the ball in his hands in the open field where he becomes vulnerable to injury.

In general though it's sort of insulting to RBs that we think any athlete can play the position at the NFL level. This isn't a backyard pick up game. At this level there is zero room for error in ball security as you're going against the best of the best who practice all year to rip the ball out. Micah has no feel for reading an oline and finding the gaps. Even the little things like actually taking a handoff has such a high percentage to go wrong that it defeats the purpose of any upside here.

Give Micah a full offseason to train for this sort of thing, and maybe it could work to some extent. Asking him to do it on the fly carries more risk than upside.

You brought nothing other than it's a three-page thread and they would tackle him low
Please Captain obvious do you have anything we could really use here if not troll somewhere else

Well, I guess all the players in TX or anywhere else don't practice ball security like they do in PA, huh? lol. Like I said, it is an intriguing idea, but not really sure how it would work out, but I would like to see it.

If he had never played running back I would agree with you but I think because of his background he could probably be brought up to speed pretty quickly because of his intelligence and athletic ability.

Sure I could be wrong but one thing I do know is Pollard Vaughn Rico and whatever other journeyman we have combined together for 50 yards when they play the 49ers consistently and average 3 yards a carry.

I may be silly crazy and out of my mind but I don't think this is going to get it done it hasn't in the past and we haven't done anything to augment our talent at running back so this is about the only solution I got rather than doing the same thing and expecting different results

Could it really be worse than the running game plan we've trotted out against San Francisco the last three times we've played them.

We just saw Luepke fumble at the goal line in a bad exchange between him and Dak, and we want Parsons to run the ball?
Not to mention, we see Parson huffing and puffing because he has to rush against guys that weigh nearly 80 to 100 pounds more than he does, guys who are constantly tugging and holding him all ... through ... the ... game, and we want to give him carries?
Other teams would immediately go for his legs, neutralizing one of his biggest assets, i.e., his speed.
We need Parsons on defense.
If we can't beat the Packers with the offensive players we have now, we don't deserve to win.
Besides, it's Dak's time to shine on offensive, Micah on defense.

No...lol. Like I said, it could work out, but if so they better start preparing him for that as of yesterday.

Shed the diapers if you want to post a thread where you'll get ridiculed. Either that or slap me and all other who chided your suggestion on ignore to save yourself the embarrassment and the hurt feelings
.
Anyone who posts a thread and opinion with whom others disagree is subject to ridicule and disagreement. It has happened to me and several other posters.
If this offends you or hurts your sensibilities, either stop posting, use the ignore function (or volitionally ignore) or roll with the punches and laugh it off.

But please spare us the "He doesn't like my thread or my opinion so he's a troll" routine. It's WAY past worn.

My cowboy brother I am hoping they started preparing him for it after we lost to San Francisco this year.
I hope somebody looked at our running game and said you know what we don't match up well against this team and if we have to face them again we need to seriously figure something out.

We may be able to muddle through against the rest of these teams with the current personnel in our running game but we need something else against the 49ers.

Here's a Kleenex tissue.
Dab your eyes, blow your nose and get back to discussing your improbable suggestion.
