As for Smith, the guy seems like he has an amazing work ethic and dedication to get back on the field. Can you imagine that energy inserted into our defense? That'll be huge alone IMO.

True. I guess people excuse the less than great personnel we sometimes get to the position not being important. If we had Troy Polamalou in his prime SS would be important in this or any other scheme.
