And the dumpster fire continues to burn.
Was she joking? She’s pretty well connected and she also said at the end of the interview that she is covering other teams as well and jokingly said she’s not sure how much longer she’ll be in Dallas. She also jokingly said that she wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry Jones called the radio station and dispute it what she said.
Jokingly, she said this
I have a buddy that knows Vrabel. He would have loved the Cowboys job. But that ship sailed.Vrabel seeking an interview? Very interesting comment there
Especially since he already has a job...Vrabel seeking an interview? Very interesting comment there
I think Kiffin would be a huge score but he's not coming for anything close to MM money. Jerry would have to come in at 10-12M per year to tempt Kiffin.I'll take Kiffin over Kellen Moore
Jerry may not know Vrabel is off the board.Especially since he already has a job...
He has been cheap with HCs since Jimmy left.when did jerry become a cheap skate
i dont get that or was he always like that and i do not remember
cause just a couple year ago he was talking all big about how he would sign a huge huge check if it mean cowboys could win a super bowl
And the dumpster fire continues to burn.
Actually Rex Ryan was to expensive for Jerry. Zimmer was plan bJerry is going to go after Moore, which Dak would love but this would be Jerry's puppet. Jerry is wanting to be risk free in contracts with these incentive laden contract proposals.
But look who can or are all available:
Bill Belichick (He can easily leave North Carolina, he's even done it in the NFL)
Pete Carrol
Mike Tomlin (Tomlin and/or the Steeler's would want a change)
Jon Gruden
Deion Sanders (This would take some finagling and Neon isn't going to come for some incentive laden deal)
Joe Brady
Ben Johnson
Aaron Glenn
Brian Flores
Mike Zimmer
Hell, even Rex Ryan is looking for a gig. He was runner up to Mike Zimmer for the DC job last year.
Other than Gruden, who would want to re-polish his legacy and overall reputation, None of these guys are going to take a totally incentive laden deal.
Please don’t take this as any slight against you, but I consider everything that comes from her to be a ‘joke’.She’s pretty well connected and she also said at the end of the interview that she is covering other teams as well and jokingly said she’s not sure how much longer she’ll be in Dallas. Have you seen our QB room?Could Robert Saleh be a consideration ? he is a heck of an defensive mind and if not for the QB issues at the Jets he was building a powerhouse.
Exactly right. The reason Jerry hired Barry Swtitzer right after JJ was to prove how little the coach matters. The players win the games. He has been cheap with HCs since Jimmy left.
Yep, they are by far the most profitable franchise, I'm not discrediting that at all. That said though their actual operating income that year was reported around $550M. What the actual net income is for the team after taxes and reinvestment we dont know until without actually seeing their books. Other teams (not all) have owners who make way more money outside of football and use those outside investments to fund their teams. The Cowboys have an owner that is largely believed by some CPAs to be using revenue from the team to fund other investments. As I mentioned earlier its only theory without us having direct access to their books, but Jerry's actions make it a very believable one. This is possibly why throwing a couple hundred million into an escrow account for free agents and coaches is tough for Jerry to do.In 2023, the Dallas Cowboys were the only NFL franchise to report revenue of over one billion U.S. dollars. In that year, America's Team generated revenue of 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.

That's not what she said.Vrabel seeking an interview? Very interesting comment there
Dan Quinn couldn’t wait to interview with Washington before our game with Green Bay and then we proceeded to get blown out. He took the job the next day if I recall. How do you interview a guy involved in a divisional playoff round and with MNF playoff games now Eagles don’t even know the opponent I would imagine coaches are looking at Rams Vikings tape . Not a lot of time to talk to Jerry . Jerry said no to Chicago when MM wasn’t even coaching anymore .
Lurie could tell Jerry you can talk to Moore when season is over , good bye .
Any players that "like" their HQ is a coach I do not want.- This is McCarthy telling Jerry to stick it .
JJ was gonna low ball him and sign him @ the deadline.
- McCarthy was frustrated by the end of the season.
- McCarthy was really frustrated by the block on meeting the Bears.
- Bears interest is legit.
- Saints love McCarthy
- Slater thinks Cowboys are in shock at this .
- Multiple players wanted MM back
- MM told staff contract length an issue - puts everyone out of job.
- Lane Kiffin name popping
- Despite the confusion the Dallas job is coveted
- Mike Vrabel asked Jane Slater to introduce him JJ.
- Cowboys are perceived as league leaders in cheapness.
- JJ - Is floating incentive based coaching contract.
- A lot of interviewable guys are blocked off in the playoffs.
- Dak Loves Kellen Moore
- Long process
- Wonders about Pete Carroll
Jerry has a bad tendency of listening to the ignorant fans, especially since they are his biggest money investors. When the mass of fans start acting up and prematurely start demanding a hanging, Jerry panics and makes super costly dumb decisions.- This is McCarthy telling Jerry to stick it .

He clearly was not the problem in New York...they would need a top notch OC thoughCould Robert Saleh be a consideration ? he is a heck of an defensive mind and if not for the QB issues at the Jets he was building a powerhouse.
