Jerry has a bad tendency of listening to the ignorant fans, especially since they are his biggest money investors. When the mass of fans start acting up and prematurely start demanding a hanging, Jerry panics and makes super costly dumb decisions.
Sadly, you are incorrect. Jerry doesn't give a crap about the ignorant or kool aid drinking fanbase of the team. Sean Payton was available last year, Harbaough was available last year. Johnson and Glenn were available to at least share a cup of Joe with, but Jerry and his diddling made sure this never happened. This is just the coaching aspect of the team...I would say a majority of fans didn't want the Dak contract, yet Jerry waited...and waited...and waited Like everything with him, he is a day late, and a dollar short

Dan Quinn couldn’t wait to interview with Washington before our game with Green Bay and then we proceeded to get blown out. He took the job the next day if I recall.
Maybe that’s more JJ stupidity.

He beat Todd Bowles last night . So did McCarthy . Let’s see the Commanders keep up with the rested Lions

I am sure knowing McCarthy was in his last year of his contract, that Jerry has already done all the deliberate legwork of potential replacements. I am sure they have done a deep dive and they are well prepared to act fast.

Ha...that was even funny to write out. I am sure none of that has happened and they are already on their heels.

Dude had it coming.

Blew up the season with all the home blowout losses.

Was basically a fraud as a play caller.

when did jerry become a cheap skate

i dont get that or was he always like that and i do not remember

cause just a couple year ago he was talking all big about how he would sign a huge huge check if it mean cowboys could win a super bowl
But he doesn't believe coaches are a big deal so why pay? He believes that 500 coaches want this job. No need to shell out the big bucks.

Only Jerry could make anyone sympathize with McCarthy. He should have been gone after last year (at the latest), instead you bring him back as a lame duck with a worse roster. He goes 7-10 and for some reason you string it out and act like you want him back, even denying him a chance to interview with other teams. Now he walks (I don't blame him) which apparently is shocking to you, and we can't interview either of the Detroit assistants.

We could have had Belichick or Harbaugh or Payton or Vrabel with any competent leadership.

- This is McCarthy telling Jerry to stick it .
JJ was gonna low ball him and sign him @ the deadline.
- McCarthy was frustrated by the end of the season.
- McCarthy was really frustrated by the block on meeting the Bears.
- Bears interest is legit.
- Saints love McCarthy
- Slater thinks Cowboys are in shock at this .
- Multiple players wanted MM back
- MM told staff contract length an issue - puts everyone out of job.
- Lane Kiffin name popping
- Despite the confusion the Dallas job is coveted
- Mike Vrabel asked Jane Slater to introduce him JJ.
- Cowboys are perceived as league leaders in cheapness.
- JJ - Is floating incentive based coaching contract.
- A lot of interviewable guys are blocked off in the playoffs.
- Dak Loves Kellen Moore
- Long process
- Wonders about Pete Carroll
We are known around the NFL as being cheap?
That's hard for me to understand,
We are the most valuable sports franchise in the World,
in a league with a salary cap on players and we can pay top dollar for coaches, who's salaries are uncapped?

Wouldn't it be great if Jerry played hardball with the player contracts. I don't believe it's length of contract like they say. That's something that can easily be worked out. I think after seeing Quinn coach the commanders to victory last night Jerry knew he held on to the wrong guy.

Jerry got worked in player contracts, so he is now trying to make a stand.

Explain how a coach who lost 2 embarrassing home playoff games, finished 7-10, including 6 straight 20 point losses at home be in position to stick it to anyone. Did jerry handle this poorly, yes, but MM no longer the coach is the best news we’ve had as fans in a long time
I’m stunned that anyone would want MM. Not only do his teams fold at the worst time, he has a low in game coaching IQ and his teams commit dumb penalties continuously and in bunches. To me time / game management and clean play are the basics you look for in a coach.

Yep, they are by far the most profitable franchise, I'm not discrediting that at all. That said though their actual operating income that year was reported around $550M. What the actual net income is for the team after taxes and reinvestment we dont know until without actually seeing their books. Other teams (not all) have owners who make way more money outside of football and use those outside investments to fund their teams. The Cowboys have an owner that is largely believed by some CPAs to be using revenue from the team to fund other investments. As I mentioned earlier its only theory without us having direct access to their books, but Jerry's actions make it a very believable one. This is possibly why throwing a couple hundred million into an escrow account for free agents and coaches is tough for Jerry to do.
I get what you are saying but, IMHO, I don't think Jerral is hurting for money. He is straight up cheap and every dollar he can keep for himself probably gives a big dopamine rush, which feels real good to people with dementia. They get a nice moment of clarity to brighten an otherwise dull day.

exactly… who cares if the bears wanna interview him.one of the most penalized teams in football past couple years… looked lifeless during the playoffs in consecutive years.

Jerry meddling or not… please don’t tell me this team didn’t have talent… they just couldn’t get the most out of it.
