I think we’re going to be surprised at the TEs available in the 2nd.

I honestly think Washington or Musgrave could be there.
I don't disagree but I am concerned that if teams are not impressed with WR's that everything else is going to get pushed up.

At one point I thought Washington might fall to the range of our second pick but now I don't think there is any chance of that. No idea where Musgrave will go.

Could be, and if that happens other good players will fall.

We don’t have to force the issue at TE. It’s such a loaded class I think there will be a great value pick somewhere in rounds 2-5.

Completely agree..

Drafting a round 2 TE this year is where it’s at I think.

Give me Laporta in round 2 or 3. Dude is going to be a nice TE and his production will be good if he’s a starter I believe.

Imagine this for a draft.

You go Darnell Wright, Darnell Washington, and then Achane.

You improve the middle of the offenses run blocking and you guarantee the edge run blocking being some of the best in football.

Then you have 2 backs in Pollard and Achane who can hit the hole and can get to the edge.

That would be nasty.

Wright - yes, I am lighting candles at church he somehow slips to us

Washington - doubt he'd be there in the second but something about him scares me. I would rather have LaPorta there or maybe Kuntz later.

Achane - People like him, for some reason I am not impressed. Would rather have a guy like Spears from Tulane. Kid is just so smooth.

Oh, I have had almost the exact thought. Wright & Washington, Torrence & Washington. Either combination should make for a nasty line. Plug in another weapon behind them and light the fuse.

Just don't have any hopes that Wright will be available to us. Makes me sad cause I really enjoyed watching some breakdowns on him. :(

Agree 100%. I think he’ll be a rock solid pro and have a long career in the league as a starter. High floor.

I’m just not going to gamble on a mediocre athlete to be elite at a low value position when I feel confident I can either develop Fergy into what Schultz was and / or get a better athlete 2 rounds later to develop.
Fair enough. I have heard that he is one of the 5 targets at 26: Robinson, Mayer, Wright, Sanders, Avilia.

Did you see the report on Wright from McGinn? Scouts were saying he is a real underachiever and not a hard worker at all, he sounds like Collins.

Hearing McDonald is one of the hottest prospects as he had to cancel 30 visits cause too many teams wanted him to come in.

Seems like he was always making plays when I watched their games. I can understand people concerns though.

I haven't watched some of the other backs but there appears to be a lot of talent at the position this year. I'm sure you could interchange several RB's behind a good Oline and they would excel.

Yeah I feel like mock drafts have totally missed it with Darnell Wright.

Dude could go top 12 next Thursday and it wouldn’t surprise me.

No way should a Tackle/Guard prospect like that be available at 26.

I’m a big Achane fan.

If it’s blocked he puts his foot in the dirt and goes.

If that’s our list I’d go Wright then Sanders.

Nah I haven’t seen anything negative on Wright.

I wouldn’t be surprised if McDonald goes well ahead of us. Guys like Van Ness and Murphy are hard to figure out for me because you just don’t see the same bend and pass rush plan as someone like McDonald. It wouldn’t shock me if Murphy slides to us.

I'll have to watch him more. I know many here like him. I just like some other guys better. Granted part of this could be me just having a bit of a problem using prime picks (which I consider 1st and 2nd rounders as prime) on a TB and I've seen Achane as a 2nd round guy in some mocks.

But in the 3rd? Yeah, more palatable to me.

If you get it blocked he’s as dangerous with the ball as anyone in this draft.

He also is a little more physical than people realize.

I just did a PFN mock:

26 - Wright, OT, UT
58 - Sanders, LB, Ark
90 - Bigsby, TB, Aub
129 - Young, DT, Bama
176 - Ojomo, DT, UT
212 - Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA
244 - Whyle, TE, UC

The main reason I ignore all mocks is because they truly are one of the most worthless things one can do.

3. DARNELL WRIGHT, Tennessee (6-5 ½, 333, 5.01, 1-2): Another 5-star recruit, this time from Huntington, W.Va. “He is a talented underachiever,” said one scout. “Not great football character. You could hit on him. If he has an epiphany and becomes a pro, he’s got a ******** of talent.” Started 42 of 47 games over four seasons, including 27 at RT, 13 at LT and two at RG. “There’s a lot of entitlement with this kid but did he shut out (Alabama’s) Will Anderson,” another scout said. “Absolutely. If you want to like him that’s the tape you point to and say, ‘This guy’s a starting left or right tackle. Case closed.’ But when you dig into it, he’s never been much of a worker. Barely does enough to get by. Not super cooperative. Hard work is not in his vocabulary. Just does enough … But he has absolutely helped himself. Had a good Senior Bowl. Had a good combine. He’s probably been clean enough in the interviews that somebody would say, ‘Hey, we’ll work with him.’ I think he could flame out pretty quick because he’s not a worker. It might not be as easy as he thinks it’s going to be in the league.” So-so arm length (33 ¾), tiny hands (9). “Pro Bowl-caliber player,” a third scout said. “Looked a lot more comfortable on the right side. Really strong hands. Aggressive, can move people in the run game. Hard to beat in pass pro because he’s good with his set. You can’t run through him because he’s strong.” Wonderlic of 18. “He’s got character but he’s talented,” a fourth scout said. “He’s just got poor football character. Lazy, but he blocked Alabama, he blocked Georgia like it was nothing.”

This report screams Collins to me.

Yeah he sucks.

Dallas should do everyone a favor and draft him so the rest of the league doesn’t have to deal with him.

Actually sounds worse then collins

But once again these anonymous 'experts' do not impress me. Whose to say they are not the second coming of Matt Millen, etc?
