I think we’re going to be surprised at the TEs available in the 2nd.

I honestly think Washington or Musgrave could be there.
I think so too. Each of these guys has pretty significant red flags that might not warrant a first rounder. Mayer, slow. Washington, no production. Kincaid, injured. Musgrave, also injured. These aren't really great prospects, though they are all clearly talented

I just did a PFN mock:

26 - Wright, OT, UT
58 - Sanders, LB, Ark
90 - Bigsby, TB, Aub
129 - Young, DT, Bama
176 - Ojomo, DT, UT
212 - Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA
244 - Whyle, TE, UC
That would do the trick!

3. DARNELL WRIGHT, Tennessee (6-5 ½, 333, 5.01, 1-2): Another 5-star recruit, this time from Huntington, W.Va. “He is a talented underachiever,” said one scout. “Not great football character. You could hit on him. If he has an epiphany and becomes a pro, he’s got a ******** of talent.” Started 42 of 47 games over four seasons, including 27 at RT, 13 at LT and two at RG. “There’s a lot of entitlement with this kid but did he shut out (Alabama’s) Will Anderson,” another scout said. “Absolutely. If you want to like him that’s the tape you point to and say, ‘This guy’s a starting left or right tackle. Case closed.’ But when you dig into it, he’s never been much of a worker. Barely does enough to get by. Not super cooperative. Hard work is not in his vocabulary. Just does enough … But he has absolutely helped himself. Had a good Senior Bowl. Had a good combine. He’s probably been clean enough in the interviews that somebody would say, ‘Hey, we’ll work with him.’ I think he could flame out pretty quick because he’s not a worker. It might not be as easy as he thinks it’s going to be in the league.” So-so arm length (33 ¾), tiny hands (9). “Pro Bowl-caliber player,” a third scout said. “Looked a lot more comfortable on the right side. Really strong hands. Aggressive, can move people in the run game. Hard to beat in pass pro because he’s good with his set. You can’t run through him because he’s strong.” Wonderlic of 18. “He’s got character but he’s talented,” a fourth scout said. “He’s just got poor football character. Lazy, but he blocked Alabama, he blocked Georgia like it was nothing.”

This report screams Collins to me.
sounds like he'd fit right in then. sadly.

Remember Collins, he never improved since he arrived and was known to be a poor worker. I want the Tyler Smith who wants to be great.
Oh I agree. I'll take less talent with more "want to".

I may have to dig in to this. His tape against high level players was really good. If that is without being dedicated, imagine what he could be if he tried!!!

Actually Collins was not a poor worker at all when he arrived. And he DID improve; but once he got his money....

I never want a guy who you have to worry about motivating. I do not care how much POTENTIAL he has.

Any of those would be an upgrade to:
Wright>>McGovern
Robinson>>Zeke
Mayer>>Schultz

I would still think they need to to take a WR but TEs are pass catchers too. Mayer would upgrade our receiving group a little closer to the Eagles and almost everyone say he's a safe pick.

Cee Dee Lamb Draft Grade 6.81 R1P17
Michael Mayer Draft Grade 6.44 R1P26
Brandon Cooks Draft Grade 6.3 R1P20 (going into his 10th season)
Michael Gallup Draft Grade 6.2 R3P17
Jalen Tolbert Draft Grade 6.21 R3P24

AJ Brown Draft Grade 6.7 R2P19
Devonta Smith Draft Grade 7.13 R1P10
Dallas Goedert Draft Grade 6.3 R2P17

You knew that was coming, all it means is that others slip a bit.
Dont get all tied up with who the Cowboys select at 26, even if we are still sitting there.
This draft is deep, a trade back with the right partner wouldnt upset me if we still come away with one of our top 3 targets.
Im fine with trading back

IF true, then yes.

But these quotes from scouts are often all over the place and intentionally divisive. I take em all with a grain of salt.
And as Stash just linked, there is an article from the UT coaches praising him during his move back to RT. UT approached him about moving back to RT from LT to accomodate players that had only played on the left side. Wright did it no questions asked. A kid as entitled as some of these scouts claim would likely not have been all too happy to make that move.

Both. It’s getting crazy including the Philly talk. I’d love him at 26 but trading up is insane.
I'd be stunned, absolutely stunned, if Philly took him at 10. Maybe in a trade down from 10, but still unlikely. At 30? Maybe but that's only because they have the luxury of having two number one picks. If they only had the 30th pick, they wouldn't use it on a TB and definitely wouldn't go trading up for a TB.

IDK........Strong words from the scout. Maybe too strong, as if there's an agenda. Not to mention, I would hope they are relying upon ONE person's eval. Do your homework if character and work ethic supposedly issues. You mention Collins and you could but it could also be similar to bashing Dez went through.

30th I can see. I argue with Philly fans about him. It’s hard for me to fathom taking a running back high when I have Hurts and the best offensive line in football. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I can see at 30 because there won’t be a better talent there.

There was a guy on ESPN says he worked 2 years for the Eagles. According to him, there's less than zero chance the Eagles would draft Bijan at 10. I agree....with an offense as stacked as theirs, there are not enough snaps to justify a 1st rounder at RB.
