"Dez Bryant missed an MRI and a treatment on Monday. He missed a team meeting on Tuesday, and he was not at a meeting Wednesday" - Garrett
"He suspected that it was a serious injury. He really thought he was gonna get bad news, so he avoided it" - Garrett on Dez.

Garrett says Dez was fearful the MRI was going to have some bad news, so he avoided it. Was worried the news would be worse than what it was

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota 4m4 minutes ago
Garrett: Dez Bryant got info Sunday night that it might be serious injury, so avoided MRI initially. Dez thought results were gonna be worse
Jason Garrett on Dez Bryant: "He's a very, very passionate person. He's an emotional person. He didn't handle it the right way."

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr 3m3 minutes ago Frisco, TX
Garrett said Dez Bryant didn't handle it the right way. It has been addressed. And the Cowboys are moving on
Garrett said the Cowboys do not anticipate Bryant practicing today. He does feel better and they will how he feels tomorrow

So Dez is a moron. Got it.

He's more like a child mentally. He's obviously not the brightest guy, but his life is football. He was terrified it was getting taken from him again. It's no excuse, but I understand.

I don't. I don't understand at all. That has to be the dumbest excuse I've ever heard.

What does Dez have without football relative to now?

...It's not an excuse. I think I just said that. I'm just going by what they said. I never said I condoned it, I just said I understood it. It's childish, which was my point. He has the mentality of a child still.

To be clear, yours is not the dumbest excuse, Dez's is. You are very kind for giving Dez some leeway here. Too kind, in my opinion. Some of these guys need to seriously look themselves in the mirror and decide if they want to participate in the adult world.

Thanks for clarifying! :) You're assuming that Dez is capable of that mentally. I assert that he might not be. He might be as mature and adult as he'll ever get. It really was a dumb excuse but given his behavior over the years, there is pretty good evidence that he isn't likely to mature any more.

If he is capable of more maturity, then he should get no leeway. He should have been fined hard and chewed out. If he isn't more capable, then he should be given leeway because mentally he was and always will be a child. People can't help being what they are in that circumstance.

This is odd almost jerry speak !
If he was not at meeting Wednesday, that means he missed it ?? so why not say he missed meetings on tue and wed ??
To me it sounds better the way jg said, he didnt miss 2 meetings, he only missed one, and was just "not at " the other meeting !

Then the explanation is dez didnt want bad news on his knee so missed the mri........or was he just not there ??:flagwave:

And that explanation doesnt explain missing 2 meetings, and essentially being awol for 3 days.

Maybe he's saying Dez was AWOL on TUES, and then had an excused absence on WED, both related to the injury? Hard to say.

Either way, it's the same net result: temperamental WR didn't handle his injury situation well, team wanted to handle it internally, fans don't like it very much and think they deserve more details.

Well Idgit I have moved on from it, but I wonder now how the media found out he missed the mri and meetings to begin with ??
