What a frightening quote. I know Jerry is just to support his boneheaded hire, but what he's basically saying there is if he could pick any coach in the world, he would take Monte Kiffin right now to coach this defense.

Scary.

I think that what he is trying to do, as misguided as it is, is to try to instill some confidence and to attempt to salvage what looks to be another lost season.

Good luck with that!

I'd rather he say nothing than continue to say stupid things. And I don't like being clearly lied to, no matter what type of corporate 'spin' people try to put on it.

In my book, lies are lies.

The "abandoning the running game" statement is a pile of BS. Aside from the possession in that two-minutes before the half, Dallas did not get away from the running game until the Bears went up 35-14 with 2:20 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

And in that two-minute possession, you're not going to run the ball if you want to score. The Bears were up 3, and they were to get the ball to begin the 2nd half. What's more, the defense hadn't stopped Chicago all night, so it had already become a case of needing to match them score-for-score. The defense once again couldn't make a stop, and the Bears go in to the half up 10. They take the opening kickoff of the 3rd and make it 27-14. On Dallas' next possession, it's a 3 and out, but not because of abandoning the run. Two runs and an incomplete pass. The Bears extend the lead to 35-14 and THEN Garrett decides to abandon the run game, and rightly so.

"Getting away from the run game" didn't happen until it was absolutely necessary, and it damn sure didn't contribute to the loss.

Nope we abandoned the running game. Every single person can see that. Why not keep running the ball at the end of the 1st half? They weren't stopping it at all. Our passing game sucked last night. Even down just 13 with the ball in Bears territory we resort to passing the ball.

Garrett is horrible.

And maybe this is what you were referring to, but he specifically said the offense was doing some good things but then the Bears got a stop and scored and the game got out of hand. In other words, blaming the defense. In other other words, protecting his side of the ball and thus his own hide. Typical.

Garrett has frequently thrown ppl the under the bus. Very frequently actually. Surprised we don't talk about it more

Jerry Jones has made a lot of questionable calls in Dallas, but I really think hiring JG was his worst one. He is just an awful head coach.

He is a skinny wade minus the football IQ.

Wow.

It's no wonder why these fans continue to tell Jerry thank you, may I have another.

Yes. Wade Phillips won with players Bill Parcells couldn't. Something like that.

I know, wow. What the heck is wrong with some of you?

Nope. If the end goal is to score before the half, you can't do it by running the ball more than you're passing it, even with all 3 TOs left. Realistically, you're not going to get out of bounds every play, so you've got to burn a TO after each run, or else you'll lose between 20-30 seconds each play. With only 1:33 to go when Dallas got possession, there wasn't time to approach it that way. Assuming you call a TO after each play, you're going to be able to run 6 plays at the most. How often do 6-play, 71-yard drives take place, especially by strictly running the ball?

As for the revisionist history part of your post (the "down by 13 line"), you need to go look at the play-by-play. Dallas got the ball back in Chicago territory after the kickoff, then promptly ran the ball TWICE out of the three plays of the possession. After punting, the Bears increased their lead to 21 points.

How is running two out of three plays considered "resorting to passing the ball"?

Wade Phillips had a 13 win season, an 11 win season in which he won a playoff game, and a 9 win season, in which romo missed 3 games, compared to what is going on right now, wade isn't looking too bad.

That´s the key in this statement, compared to Garrett Wade seems like Lombardi.

The team did some good things yesterday in terms of running the ball. The OLine played pretty well.

we tried the bull headed coach, Parcells, we tried the cupcake coach, Wade (some people are just better coordinators), and we tried a college coaches, and lame duck coaches. My question is whats left?

Operation " Get Gruden " should be in full swing after this seasons ends or maybe even sooner.

We need a hard arse coach not the continual "Yes men" JG seems to always go for.

Grudens coaching style will suit us to a tee but honestly i cannot blame him for not wanting to touch us they we are currently run Admin wise. I can only dream that one day Chucky will be coaching us.

The only thing that can be next, Jerry to step down as GM .

Could someone tell me what Wade did so bad that got him fired that Garrett hasn't done as well? Both lost the team, both took multiple butt whippings in the same season, both were clueless on how to fix the problems, and yet, Wade got the boot but Garrett remains...

Did anybody ask him why he has gotten his arse handed to him twice in the last 4 games?

2 blowouts on national tv in the span of a month..................yea, we are really doing some good things here.

What a freaking idiot.....................the migrane headache I am going to have when the Eagles officially win this division will be eased by the impending news of Opie getting a one way ticket out of Big D.

That will be a great day in the history of this franchise.

yes they did, but what did it result in?

Playoff win?

I hope you guys enjoyed that 2009 playoff win Wade gave us.................going to be a long, long, long, time before we ever see another. We basically have to draft an entire new defense since we have no free agent money.............shouldnt take more than 5 or 6 yrs.......LOL

Blowing up the coaching staff is not a good idea. I really hate Garrett and thought he has made some dumb decisions but Jones should not fire Kiffin or Callahan. They have been coaches for a very long time and know what they are doing. I would bring in Gruden or Lovie Smith as they would keep the current assistants in place. Dallas cannot change systems after every disappointing season. The players need consistency.

This defensive scheme is one of the worst I have ever seen. To call zone coverage where the safety is standing 8 yards deep in the endzone when the other team has the ball on the 5 yard line is just beyond logical.

9 yr old girls playing Madden for the first time ever call better goalline defense than that...........................like Mickey said today, this defense belongs in the Arena league.
