No doubt . And after last resigning of Prescott better GM’s would have brought in or drafted a heir apparent to better prepare for moving on instead of being held hostage by a QB they knew would demand more than worth.
The stretch after Aikman and before Romo is all you need to know about this franchises ability to evaluate QBs vis the draft. We literally were gifted Romo and Prescott.

Supposedly that has never happened before (zero punts and turnovers).

Games with zero punts alone has only happened 7 times ever. Funny enough last time no punts happened was last year cowboys vs seahawks thriller
That is funny. Didn't realize that until now.

Much more talented and dynamic. Best of all he’s on a rookie contract. The Commanders are in a much better position than the Cowboys going forward. Congrats to Dan Quinn.
The young man sure looks legit and that is pretty scary............

Probably a little early to make this judgement, but on the other hand like clockwork there will be 2 or 3 QBs every year that get on Dak's level or surpass him, all while his play continues to decline. And his attitude.

cowboys are gonna have to deal with him for a long time. I guess if you suck for as long as they have getting an opportunity at this blue chipper is your reward. Im still not convinced they win the division or even make the playoffs but the future looks better than it did last year.

all the crowning in here by ticked off fans at Dak should just be taken with a grain of salt. Dak isn't without flaws but he also don't play defense or block for the running game. there are 14 more games to play.

I mean look at the Packers QB right now, Malik Willis. Even Sam Darnold is winning right now. Seahawks can’t run the ball either, but they are 3-0. Andy Dalton was absurd this Sunday. This era is a QBs dream,

Dak was winning before because he was surrounded by talent. Even Hurts got to the SB before Dak.

Acting like this dude was worth 231 million and Dallas would be in QB hell for years if they let him walk is a joke.
If you just do the eye test around the league, Dak looks old, slow and weak-armed. Half his passes are late and wobbly...with a few dimes sprinkled in. His decision-making has been average...some awesome highlights with way too many lowlights for the highest paid player in NFL history.

I don't care if he threw 5 INTs...this would be a much more productive, interesting and strategic season if we start Lance. Get a high draft pick and rip the band-aid off and stop this soft rebuild crap.

But he is the highest paid player on the team and in NFL history where there is a salary cap. So your comments shielding Dak should also be taken with a "grain of salt". The Dak criticism is based off a larger sample size than 14 games...so 14 more games ain't changing the trajectory much. And you can say goodbye to the "12 win season" slight-of-hand when we DID have a D giving Dak a short field and a ton of turnovers/defensive touch downs.

Yeah because the game last night was 10-6 right? Not 38-33. Keep blaming the defense for Dak's short falls, it's funny. They both independently sucked, if you wanna blame one for the other blame Dak and the offense for the defense sucking.

Dan Quinn's "Cowboys" defense is built to rush the passer, they are front runners, try giving them a lead Dak. You have it backwards.. in a big way. Stop pouting like a child over Dak, it's nauseating
Dak had 379 yards with 2 passing TDs and one rushing TD. He had no turnovers and a passer rating of 91.9. He accounted for 21 of our 25 points and you claim he sucked? Washington didn’t give up half the rushing yards we did. Their defense made some critical stops. The Ravens held the ball almost 10 minutes longer than the Cowboys because our defense couldn’t stop them. You fans that keep pointing the finger at Dak have an agenda. Not going to waste much more time with you and your Dak hate agenda.

Why was he absent for 3 other quarters? What's up with that? Could it be that the Ravens were laughing at us at 28-6 while completely dominating? That comeback was not a moral victory and that is exactly why Dak got paid big money. He comes back and pads his stats after the other team lets off the gas.

that don't mean squat. Jerry hasn't been prevented from building a team. He just refuses to do it the right way. Dak isn't responsible for either of our 2 losses or at least he's down the list. You fans are the type of no nothing fans that equate $$ to being able to carry the other side of the ball.

Can he improve sure but patrick mahomes would have lost the first 2 games we lost this year. it takes 11 its a team game and i dont care how much $$ he makes its not my dough.

Did you watch the game? Our defense couldn’t stop them. Baltimore controlled the ball. CeeDee had a fumble deep in Ravens territory that cost us points. He also had a drop. Stop pointing the finger at Dak. He brought us back and gave us a chance to win in the end. It’s always him padding his stats with some of you. He had to put up numbers for us to have any chance in the end. Some of you just look for ways to criticize him. Nothing but an agenda.

not to mention the presnap penalties. Dak had a few throws he was off target with that may have helped his cause but our fanbase is pretty clueless. Dak makes $$$= WE MUST BLAME HIM or i didn't want him extended = EVERYTHING IS ON DAK

1st 3 Qtrs. He had plenty of chances.

Punt
FG (where's the 4th qtr play? settling for FG's, he gets paid $60 million Bubba)
Fumble (not his fault)
Punt
Punt
FG again
Punt
Downs

THEN after the Ravens were laughing/joking on the sidelines

TD

Yahhh!
but let me guess you equate wins and losses to the QB? Or just to a dollar amount? Never mind looking at your name if my memory serves me right you havent like him since he was on his rookie contract so how much he makes probably don't matter to you at least your consistent.

It's funny when other guys do it they get credit for being "clutch". When Dak does it it's because of a "prevent defense" even though they weren't in prevent lol.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not putting our loss on the shoulders of Dak Prescott, but we have to look at this even keeled as well. The Cowboys offensive 1st half went:

7 plays 13 yards - Punt
7 plays 24 yards - FG
7 plays 60 yards - Fumble (Good series from Dak)
3 plays 0 yards - Punt
6 plays 21 yards - Punt
3 plays 37 yards - FG

Commanders offense first half:

10 plays 70 yards - Touchdown
7 plays 62 yards - Touchdown
6 plays 75 yards - Touchdown

The defense in Dallas is 100% the primary issue, but lets not pretend like the Cowboys offense (Dak included) is pulling their weight. We at least have signs of life from the Cowboys offense, but 3 games in and we are yet to see them perform in both halves. Dismissing the Cowboys offensive woes is like being focused on the flood in your house, but ignoring the hole in the roof.
