As usual, Jerry's public statements regarding the depth chart of the team emasculates the coaching staff.
I can see why both the Jimster and, to a certain extent Parcells tuned Jerry out.

Moore can be the backup in games as long as they focus on getting Dak the reps he needs to actually improve his craft, he's kinda a long shot with some good intangibles so he needs all the snaps he can get.

Because Moore can't make a play and our offensive scheme requires that the QB position makes plays outside of the system.


If Romo gets injured during a game and we need to protect a lead i'd go with Moore.

If Romo gets injured the season is over. I'd rather tank the season than start Dak, who has bad mechanics and is no where near ready to start, throwing him into the fire ruining his potential like so many other franchises do around the league.

Like they did with Romo last year. Lost a little faith in our med staff after that.

The medical staff fully discussed risks, especially with another compression injury to the left shoulder.

Management felt that the potential benefits outweighed the risks, and that we could keep Tony upright.

It didn't work out.

I don't remember when or why, but I do remember actually being kinda impressed by Swaim at some point last season/preseason. Like, not on the level of "Wow this guy should start" but just that I thought he was going to be garbage and turned out he looked like he could actually contribute in some way if he continued to develop. I was actually looking forward to seeing what he brought to the table this preseason to see if that continued. I would love to get another WR and a better backup QB in here though, that's for sure.

Oh I agree... I'm talking about a scenario like 2014 when Romo had to miss a week or 2.

If Romo is out for 8 or 9 weeks then i'm all about tanking and enjoying acquiring top talent in the draft again.


I just don't want to be in the middle. Be one of the best or one of the worst.

We just gotta get back to the playoffs and hope that our neglection of real talent on defense doesn't bite us in January.


If Romo & Dez are healthy than we should be a pretty good team and capable of winning the NFC with the ball control formula.

I just always worry about our defensive talent and our offensive coaches being incredibly predictable.

It only becomes "big news" when Smith actually plays. Keeping folks hope up that he will play is only a ploy to sell tickets.
