what run game ?
Because they played a lot of cover 2 which took away the deep ball. For all the complaints about the OL, particularly pass blocking, Dak was sacked ONCE.
And Zeke was targeted SEVEN times and caught six passes, meaning Dak was going underneath to his safety valve.
Plus, there were plenty of Cowboys fans in the arena and Dak also audibled multiple times.
I agree with that. It seemed like intermediate middle was where they needed to attack. I saw a lot of runs where they were outnumbered in the box and a lot of routes going deep against cover 2 where Dak checked down. Then when it was straight man nobody was open and Dak was forcing it instead of using legs. I think Jarwin across the middle and Dak taking off was where they could have really loosened things up.Because they played a lot of cover 2 which took away the deep ball.
Not sure what game Harrison was watching, but on 3rd and long, NO went with 3-man rush and dropped 8 in coverage (often referred to as clog and cover). Hard to take deep shots when both safeties are not letting anyone get 1on1 deep and the extra DBs and LBs are clogging the middle. Dak beat this twice - once with Jarwin (lead to a TD), and once to Witten (fumble). Lattimore shut Cooper down knowing he had S help deep, and Cobb and Smith had little success getting open on anything beyond 0-5 yards..
It didn't help that Dallas couldn't run vs. 7 and 6 man boxes (2nd 1 on 2nd to last drive of the game was a 6 man box, and Zeke lost a yard thanks to Travis and Zach getting worked).
Saints had 36 TOP advantage so their DL (and the rest of the D) was fresh.
Sometimes the other team whips your "you know what".

Not one screen play was called.Yeah right it is Dak’s fault. Maybe the offensive genius including the HC should have seen the stacked box and tried to get the ball to Zeke in the flat rather than pounding it between the tackles every run. Very Linehan.
When I say middle, I meant in the pass game. A few good examples are the catches Witten made in the middle (including the one where he eventually fumbled). But the great examples are the PI that Pollard drew where the LB was caught peaking in the backfield and if he hadn’t grabbed Pollard it’s 6 points. Then the catch Jarwin made to get it down to the goaline; the backer bit hard on the play fake and Jarwin got away from him. So even when the boxes were more favorable, the backers were crashing so hard that there wasn’t much there. That’s why you loosen them up with your backs and TEs in the passing game. They usually clogged the middle as well. They dared the cowboys to run vs favorable boxes and we couldnt.
So if you throw incomplete on 1st down you get no yards and facing 2 and 10, which you're almost always passing, then your forced to pass on 3rd when everyone in the building knows your passing
John i take it in profile pic..kitty dont dig broccoli ?So, Dak should of audible more is what Jeff is inferring in the first tweet.
I saw Dak audible into the run at least 5-6 times. They were pretty much all stuffed. The coach (Usually OC) loses the mic to the QB with 15 seconds left in the play clock.
Not sure how the Cowboys run the audibles and how much leeway Dak gets.
The OC can talk to Dak for 25 seconds so if he noticed the defense lining up heavy I hope he would allow some type of audible to take advantage of that lineup.

I got extremely tired of seeing Drew Brees’s mug. Granted he is a great player but the patronage was way over the line unless the viewer happened to be a Saints fan. Just added to the home cookin’ as did those referees, who were the worst that I can recall in my 52 years as a Cowboys fan.Where was Kitna? It looked like he had on a headset sitting in the booth. Was anybody on the sideline coaching Dak and helping him breakdown the D? All I saw was shots of Drew on the sideline.
There it is folks...the Saints took the same game plan Belichick used against Rams in the Superbowl against Goff & McVay.I really think NO was playing with us. They were intentionally showing us looks in which they knew we would audible out of pass and into the run and after we'd audible, they would switch their defense. I think there must be some tendency or formation they noticed and keyed on that. They knew what was coming every time.
