No the thing is Reeves wants it. I would've never thought that was true but he was interviewed during the Shrine game and the reporter asked him about coaching again.

I fully expected he'd say no thanks, my work is done there.. but instead he said.. Well you know, I had a great run.. 23 straight years before I stepped away for awhile.. but I'd really like to make it 24 or 25.

Then of course the report that he actually even called Jerry about it the other day. Now if he actually has like 5 years in mind, well nevermind.

As for his health.. he says it checks out.

I would be cool with that then. I like the idea of a HC with some experience.
If bringing a Reeves type who understands his roll is what it takes I would do it.

Jeff Fisher was just on Fox radio and said that in the NFL now coaches go to teams that have staff members already in place more and more...that it wasnt common in past years but that has changed around the league some.

said that coaches dont always go in and name their whole staff if there are coaches already there under contract...that it isnt a big deal unless that coach has some specific problem with a coach already there or whatever.

but hey..what would Jeff Fisher know? I mean its happened even this offseason in Miami and Zona but some here think its totally taboo....
I think this is a extremely valid point. Those who was screaming because JJ hired a OC before he hired a HC seem to be jumping the gun some.

familiarity. plus Saban is noone to write home about. who wouldn't want an "nfl" guy in college.

Another poorly run organization looking for an OC on the cheap.

how many concussions did Troy have again? too many.

didn't he endorse norv and dave w. for HC also back in the day, much to the chagrin of those who hired them. LOL.

Actually a respected football guy, not an internet shill.

Another poorly run organization looking for an OC on the cheap.
Or an NFL team doing it's homework and not a fantasy geek.

Eric Mangini was a DB Coach. Holmgren, Gruden, and Reid were QB coaches, not arm chair QBs.

Jurruh wanted him in 2000 and like a petulant child finally can get him, even if it's the wrong time and circumstance
Says someone who can't get any? I mean, this is just sour grapes BS.

convicted fellon, drug trafficer/user.
6 time Pro Bowl OG, 3 time Super Bowl Champion, not an online expert.

the same guy who declared himself as the best coach for Atlanta/vick right.
1994 NFL Defensive Player of the year. 8 time Pro Bowler. Best CB ever to play in the NFL. 2 time Super Bowl Champion. No doubt Hall of Famer, not a pretender.

how many concussions did Troy have again? too many.
Fewer than Roger Staubach. Does that mean you're calling Roger stupider than Troy. I think calling either one stupid is well...stupid. 1st ballot Hall of Famer. 3 time Super Bowl Champion. Super Bowl MVP. 6 time Pro Bowler. Actually knows football so well that he's the #1 analyst in the game, not an internet critic with no credibility.

didn't he endorse norv and dave w. for HC also back in the day, much to the chagrin of those who hired them. LOL.
2 time Super Bowl Winning Head Coach, plus a college National Championship. Not a Madden Coach.

the icing on the cake folks.

I geuss it's okay, no matter who they bring in as HC, the coordinators will need to answer to the HC first, if not, and they think they can just run to JJ when things get tough, then it's not going to work. Other than that, I have no problems with it.

good spin Hos... if you post enough about it you might even convince yourself.

using your flawed logic anyone who has played the game or won an award or superbowl is 100% correct all the time about anything they say! great, cause now lets close up all cowboy forums and appoint Troy the uber-GM to hold jerruh's hand thru the upcoming football seasons. maybe Sanders can even help get a player hotline working to ring up Jerruh direct from the lockerroom ;)

Over the people crying on here the last 2 days, yeah, any day of the week, and twice as much on game days. It called better sources.

Exactly. They are actual football people who have skins on the wall and those ignoring their input are fans on the Internet who ask paper or plastic instead of man or zone.

The 2 or 3 dozen Jerry detractors whining on this site haven't won one playoff game ever. Add up their ages, multiply that times the number of people, and once the math is added up I pretty much bet you can color me unimpressed.

see, here is where your arrogance shines.

most all the analysts, experts and guys with SKINS ON THE WALL have HAMMERED jerry for the past decade - until he caught a Tuna - and they started up again when he brought TO in... they're again calling him out for interfering and these coaching moves.

you too have zero skins but choose to listen to the few cherry picked skin-holders who agree with your opinion. whatever.

I have no idea. If he were here you know people would be running him out of town after only 4 winning seasons in 12 years. Why the Titans keep him is beyond me.

H*ll, folks in here would have run Tom Landry out of town by 1965 at the latest...

Maybe I'm jumping the gun. But I see Jones reverting to his pre-Parcell's days.

Yes, I think you are jumping the gun, but at least you're HONEST about it... this shows the intellectual flexibility to admit that you might be wrong, that perhaps your reaction is more emotional than intellectual...

I can respect that stance...

I have no problem with anybody WORRYING that Jerry might be about to revert to his old form, if he did it once of course it's always possible that he'll do it again... my problem is with those who arrogantly assume that's exactly what he's doing right now...

They simply have no rational basis for making such an assumption, because they don't have the facts on this search for a new head coach... jumping to a conclusion without the benefit of facts is nothing more than mindless ranting...

IF Jerry goes power mad again, I'll be one of his critics... but I think I'll wait to see him go down that road before I rip him a new anal orifice...

Thnx Hos, I learned some thing there. I said before I have no problem with JG as OC. Head coach was a huge reach to me.

I think he needs some seasoning before he tries on a head coach gig too... he might be 2-3 years of being an offensive coordinator away from being ready to run the whole show, IMO...
