No, I said something about it not being the same year. I said it. That was me.

Do I need to dumb that down for you?

Apparently you are unaware of the fact that teams are not the same 2 years down the road.

No, that does not make sense. Thank you for asking. There shouldn't have even been a need if you had taken your own advice.
Isnt he violating some sort of rule here?

Its pretty sad when you have to spell things out for people. This was the original quote:

"The Saints secondary blows, they have no running backs. They have one receiver."

My point, and I understand now you can't see it through your blue-colored glasses, is that with a secondary that blows, and the lack of a running game, and only one receiver ........the New Orleans Saints rang up 42 points on you....IN YOUR HOUSE. In turn, your All-star QB, All-star receiver, bruising rushing attack, put up 17 points on a "secondary" that "blows". Mind you, 7 of those 17 points was gift wrapped to you as our "secondary that blows" had an easy interception that slipped directly through both hands of Fred Thomas, the DB, and landed in "It-wasn't-a-suicide-attempt" Owens' hands for a TD. 7 other points from a busted play by the DB when Julius Jones ran 80 yards for the opening TD. So, two busted plays and you are really looking embarrassed on national TV. Do you remember? I do.

Yes. Discussing football and not talking about Superbowl wins. I think that is a requirement in every thread I've viewed here.

So says the Dallas fans who regurgitate their Superbowl wins and gloried past in just about every other post on this forum. Please state that "past glories" thing to your buddies so everyone else can come here to discuss football and not read it over and over again.

"Go soil yourself to your 3 divison titles and 100 games below .500 record."

edit: see. One post later and another mention of the past 40 years worth of memories. Let it go. Let it go.

I never implied that either of the teams are the same as they were in 2006, merely that the personel listed put up 42 points on an 8-4 Cowboys team that was high and mighty going into that contest. I think the Saints believe their squad to be better today as well.

Yeah right. Sean Payton knows better than to say his team is as talented as ours... don't insult your own coaches intelligence.

And you threw up a game two years ago as if it somehow means something today... I didn't dwell on the past, you are the one who did that. We don't have to debate which team has been better in the past, because everyone here already knows that the Saints have a history of sucking. What is there to debate?

Of course I remember. You weren't here so you wouldn't know this, I expected you guys to go all the way to the Super Bowl that year.

Regardless of whether your secondary and team improved since 2006, 2008 is still not that year. They are not relevant to each other. Every team has bad games. Every team gets spanked now and then. We got spanked. You had a Head Coach who was laying in wait to spring the trap and he did a fantastic job of it. I take NOTHING away from the 2006 Saints.

Whoop dee freaking doo. That and 75 cents will by you a Coke.

2006 still has nothing whatsoever to do with 2008.

Hey genius, the game from 12/10/06 was brought up because it was the last time the two teams played each other, and with the same personel that was referenced in this quote:

"The Saints secondary blows, they have no running backs. They have one receiver."

It was a way to discredit that statement. So in a nutshell....there isn't anything to debate. That statement only makes that loss look even worse. As a matter of fact, Sean Payton showed the rest of the NFL how to beat you that week. Look at your record following that embarrassing loss on national television....in Texas stadium.

That game was two years ago, when your receivers were good(Joe Horn actually was solid) your secondary was solid and your running game was superb(Deuce used to be good)

Its funny though, you and your delusional fan base, think that because you win one playoff game against another laughable organization(and barely at that two seasons ago) that all of a sudden you have a good team, that you have a good history and that you have the right to down talk to other teams.

Last time I checked, the Atlanta Falcons have been to a Super Bowl. Last time I checked, the Carolina Panthers have been to a Super Bowl, last time I checked the Bucs have WON a super bowl and surprise surprise, the 3 division title winning team since 1967 haven't.

You and your self glorifying, ignorant fan base is a joke. If your team didn't catch lightning in a bottle, and make the playoffs that one year(And get embarrassed by a team with no offense who somehow put 40+ on your so called "non blowing secondary") you and your 25,000 fans would still be sitting in that garbage bin stadium with bags on their heads.

Try and do something on the football scene(like make the playoffs) before you act like you deserve respect and believe you feel the right to come into our house, our forum and talk ****.

You Saints fans really are inbred aren't you?

That's EXACTLY the freakin' point... The last time we played was 2 years ago and it DOESN'T MEAN A THING JACK-STAR!

We don't care about the Saints of 2 years ago, we care about the Saints of today... just like I don't care about the 3 Superbowls WE won in the 90s, I care about the one we are going to win this year.

Get it now? No of course you don't, you guys couldn't even evacuate before a category-off-the-charts hurricane hit you, so I understand how simple reasoning could be tough on you.

You know, I don't get off on smack talk so I don't participate in it. But comments like this are just bizarre to me. In the years I have looked in on this board, I have found most people here to be nice folks. The board I participate on most does not allow smack talk on its main board, so I don't see much of it and really just find it childish and annoying. But there is a huge difference between smacking someone down because of an indefensible position about their favorite team and simple ignorant rudeness. Today I have seen a good bit of it.

Do you know anything about what you are discussing or do just type thinking that people will believe what you are saying is accurate? It's quite obvious that you don't.

1. Joe Horn didn't even play in that game, or play another down for the Saints. We had a 7th round rookie in Colston, Jamal Jones who scored a TD and didn't play in the league last year, and Devery Henderson who exposed Roy Williams several times but is hardly someone that worries defenses.

2. Our secondary was one of the worst in the league that year. Solid you say?

3. Deuce McAllister was coming back from ACL surgery.

Please stop using your big brothers computer and go back to playing the Wii.

I'm almost half tempted to agree with you. Shots at a football team is one thing. Shots at a city and its culture is another. Why anyone would insult another person for having to live in a FEMA trailer after a natural disaster is beyond me.

Ah, so he took a shot at the city, who cares. We all no it smells like a babies vomit.

People have become so thin skinned now adays its pathetic. You say something even remotely questionable people are on you like a pack of wolves.

If these smelly Aint fans don't want anything, then go back to your worthless message boards with you 15 users, 8 of which didn't own a peice of Saints gear in 2005.

I am guessing that you didn't do well in comprehension last year in elementary school. Jack-star? Is that a new phrase the kids are using?

IT MEANS SOMETHING BECAUSE THE PLAYERS MENTIONED AS SUCKING WERE THE ONES THAT PUMMELED YOU DURING THAT GAME. Its a point of reference you don't seem to grasp.

Don't come to a battle of wits unarmed.

Doesn't bother me what kids say. Especially this one who doesn't know his rear hole from one in the ground. This has been proven several times in this thread alone.

BTW, this site has 7k less members than that of SaintsReport.com. Again, before you open that hole located directly under your nose.......think.

Okay, I really don't think it's possible for anyone to be quite this dumb, but I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and just say that you are...

Allow me to provide an example for the learning impaired:
Terry Glenn, 2006, 1047 yards receiving, 6 TDs...

Terry Glenn, 2008, can't get on a roster because he knees are shot

Are we seeing the big picture now? Just because player "A" does something fantastic 2 years ago, doesn't guarantee that same player success 2 years later. Does that compute?

Okay, just in case it didn't... let's bring it a little closer to home...
Mark Brunell, 2005, starter in Washington 3050 yards passing, 23 TDs, 10 INTs
Mark Brunell, 2008, Backup to Drew Brees, will be very lucky to throw 20 passes at all this season

Okay, now allow reality to set in... it doesn't matter what your roster was in 2006 or how well they played. It is 2008.

Could the Saints be good this year? Absolutely. But I'll guarantee that it has nothing to do with the team that beat the Cowboys in 2006. It will have everything to do with the roster and talent that's assembled in 2008.

Please tell me you have it this time, because I honestly want to believe that you are not entirely ignorant.
