Actually, you were the guy doing the inferring. That's not going by "actual words" at all. And I'm not saying he made any excuse, but that you tried to. As is your pattern.

But thanks once again for avoiding comment on the true elephant in the room and sticking to quibbling about minutiae.

All Jerry said is we haven't had a #1 receiver in recent years. That's it. And that's all I'm saying he said.

He made no indication that anyone else was to blame, or any indication that not having a #1 gave the team an excuse for not playing well. That was you reading something more than the words that are in the words.

What’s the difference? Neither one has taken us to an NFC championship. All Romo did was pax his stats. He ain’t done anything special for the team. In one breath you all say elite quarterbacks carry a team. Where the hell has Romo carried us? The answer is no further than Dak has. Simple and plain

We went nowhere with Romo. But at least he had the ABILITY. We always had a chance with Romo. He was not the problem.

Dak is not giving us a chance at this point.

But. But. But.... Romo is elite and can carry a team unlike Dak. Right? Ok. Where has he EVER carried us?

I don't say this to knock Romo, because I do think Romo was a good QB that could help receivers become their best, but in fairness ...

Crayton's first season after leaving Dallas he actually put up totals comparable with what he did in Dallas, and actually much better on a per game and per catch basis than at any point he was in Dallas. But after that he was 32-33 years old and had some injury problems, and only played one more year.

Austin's numbers actually improved when he went to Cleveland over what they had been the season before in Dallas.

Uh, no.

Crayton's production dropped off signficantly when he left, especially in TD receptions, and Austin was hurt the season before in Dallas with an endless string of hamstring pulls.

Then how was Austin’s decline related to being without Romo? You’re contradicting yourself yet again. Please stop.

Please attempt to follow along. I'm not even going to answer that ridiculous question.

Julio Jones was also suffering from ankle, toe, and calf sprains while Dez was dropping passes against Seattle and acting up on the sideline last season.

Yet Julio Jones still finished with 1,444 receiving yards versus Dez’s 838 receiving yards.

AB finished with 1,533 receiving yards and Hopkins finished with 1,378 receiving yards.

Julio finished with Matt Ryan
AB finished with Big Ben
Hopkins started with Watson and finished with Savage

Dez finished with DAK

Who? TO? Witten in his prime? Roy Williams? Young Dez? Terry Glenn? Who??? Please name them.
Roy Williams was washed up once he got here. He did nothing here. Terry Glenn put up two 1,000 yard seasons but was injured and at the end of his career.

I give you T.O, Dez, Witten. But who else?

Laurent Robinson, Miles Austin(Undrafted), Cole Beasley(Undrafted), Twill(Trash), Sam Hurd(Undrafted), Crayton(7th round)

Lets not start naming scrubs like Isiah Stanback, Kevin Ogletree, Jesse Holley, Dwyane Harris, etc

How’d it work for Romo? He had HOF TE and WR and STILL COULDNT GET IT DONE

He also had the three worst defenses in Cowboys history, including one that is statistically the worst in NFL history.

Along with the worst offensive lines in Cowboys history for much of that.

But otherwise, you really know your football.

LOL

Beasley has his career highs with Dak. All of the others you named piggybacked off of the double teams that TO demanded. Austin would’ve performed the same regardless if not for his hammies. All the others are JAGs with or without Romo. So what’s your point? Dak never had HOF receivers in their prime. That alone is a huge assist in the growth and maturation of an NFL Quarterback. Romo was nothing special. If he was we’d have at least 6 rings right now.
Please stop the BS

TDs is your only argument, otherwise you are way off base. Crayton averaged 18.4 yards per catch and 57.1 yards per game the year he left Dallas, and his previous highs were 16.8 and 46.5 (not in the same season). And those were his highs in the prime of his career - his average in Dallas was less than that. Crayton's yardage total the year he left Dallas was only 183 yards less than his career high, and that was with him playing 6 fewer games because of injury.

So Romo gets special excuses for failure and Dak doesn’t, right? Is that what you’re really saying?
