Jerry has figured out how to convert home field advantage into a neutral field and he is sticking with it.
you mean Like the 12 whole games that was possible in that time zone when the sun was able to point through there during an afternoon game since 2009 that maybe effected 10-12 total plays over the last 13 years??..right a huge deal even though it nearly never talked about like say the terrible field conditions in 9er land, buffalo, NY, Chicago, GB, and other places that have major wind, rain, snow, and sure God doesn't change the sun/weather when outside either..

score was 40-34 didn't seem to effect scoring AT ALL again not any more or less then outdoor stadiums.

So once in the red zone, the defense knows we can only use one side of the field for play calls because of the sun?
IN this case they was a 2x2 square where the sun was hitting in the whole endzone!

what bothered me more was that Zeke or Pollard was completely open on the right side of the field where the sun was shaded. It was an easy 6 points but obviously Dak didn’t see it. Watch that play again and you’ll see that the RB in the flat had nobody within ten yards of him.
Kurt Warners breakdown was excellent and very thorough and a good view if you can find the link, it was posted but I can't provide.
QBs have to process and execute in such a small amount of time, I have always found that to be the key critical intangible that the best QBs in the league share.
I give Dak props in this game because of that.

In this case it is not on Jerry.

Hey coaches. Let's throw the ball to the only spot on the field that has the sun blinding the players eyes -

That's just a great play call right there!
Well just let the other team realize you ain't gonna throw to that side of the end zone on sunny days sounds like sound strategy to me

Is that true?
Not in the same way. Again…those open air stadium fields run North to South not E-W. The sun will only be in the eyes of the team who’s on the east sideline- but no one who’s playing will have that issue. On those fields, no player looks back directly in the sun. That is true.

Where do you see that these stadiums were all built N/S? Do you have a link for that?

70% of all NFL fields are oriented N-S. Not sure about college.
Hey if you like the East-West orientation, have at it!

Jerry is too smart for this. Google LEED tax incentives for why the stadium was built as oriented and why he won’t (can’t) use curtains when his team is playing. There is likely a property tax incentive that Jerry needs.
Why would using curtains have anything to do with a tax saving?

If I was media, the next time Jerry's about to hold court and feed his ego I'd shine a flashlight into his eyes and another back at us and say "its cool...we both have to deal with it".

Not sure why he doesn't close the curtains. What benefit is there for keeping them open?

Probably some strange rule that stipulates actually demonstrating that the sun shines in the building thereby reducing energy used for lighting and heating for annual tax savings. Knowing enough about this owner you can bet that money is involved.

Sorry, you may be right but I need proof. I’m more apt to believe he doesn’t want to admit he made a mistake in designing the stadium. That’s just speculation also.

agreed....im all for fixing it BUT..

how many games has it truly effected i mean i can only remember 10 times since 2009 it effected a play but not much impact on a game's outcome, why is it such a big deal..
It only affects the 3:25pm games, and only if the sun is out. While that doesn't seem like a lot, if it results in a playoff loss, then that's ALL on Jerry, and he has no excuses. Not even abstract art can express how much I hate Jerry (and all the Jones for that matter); it's honestly therapist material. lol

The sun works both ways. I don't see how it puts us at a competitive disadvantage. You would think the home team would be smart enough to adapt.

LOL thats the problem our OC and QB should know better than to run a fade at that point of the game to that part of field

In his mind? The benefit is for the players on the field. They do not benefit his mindset.

He prefers showcasing his stadium in the best light (pun not intended) visually for observers. Curtains would prevent more ambient natural light from entering and decrease architectural aesthetics--whether actual or imagined.

The stadium is a reflection of his "football self." In short, it is the pinnacle of his brilliance within professional sport. Dulling that appearance (e.g. drawing curtains) dulls his self-image by extension.

However, this self-image is centered on professional football only. His stance is different concerning other stadium events that he does not define himself upon. For example, closing the curtains for a concert is not a big deal to him because he does not see himself as the greatest concert promoter of all-time.

Maybe those teams have to deal with it once a year vs us, having to deal with it for half a season.

Lol at this reasoning. So once we get into the redzone, only one side of the field is viable and everyone knows it? Awesome!!
