I think the opposite. He's been chasing that next SB win so bad that it's led to multiple "sure-fire, missing piece for a SB run" in both FA and in the draft that have actually set us back.

In his mind, he's probably convinced that him remaining as the GM is not a detriment to the team's success because he believes the personnel portion is more of a "group think" with Stephen, McClay and the Coaches.Whether it truly is or isn't, no one knows. I haven't questioned the personnel department since about 2013. I do question the his and Stephen's faith in Jason Garrett, however.

If the salary cap was dissolved tomorrow, Jerry would be the one owner pouring as much money into FA as it took to stack the roster. That, I have no doubt.

seems contradictory.
No it doesn't- it's a guy who wants a cheat code and still look like a hero.

You know he wakes up in a pool of sweat, at least 3 times a week, dreaming that the NFL has lifted the salary cap with a young man's morning wood.

I think of Jerry like a mini George Steinbrenner...without the bluster and restricted by the cap...and unlike ole George incapable of hiring great GM's...for the simple reason...HE wants the credit because he wants to be thought of as a great football man.

You can say a lot about Jerry but he wants to win.
As an outsider looking in I believe he wants to win, but only under his terms.

I think profit is his biggest priority, and he doesn't get his own ego out of the way when it comes to decision making.

He as an owner won Super Bowls by hiring great football people and delegating authority. Those he hired made it look easy, so easy that he wrongly thought he could take it on himself and be as successful.

Seems like now he is on a quest to prove the doubters wrong and failing badly at it.

Garrett as coach
Marinelli as DC, Tampa 2, that was Dungy and Kiffin scheme, 10-38 as head coach
No FA signings
Callahan, lol
But his wallet getting fatter and fatter but we haven't won since 1995.

I'm just venting, It's just sad that our team can't compete year in year out but always has the highest grossing team and always have the highest ratings on TV.

I feel like a Knicks fan :(

Blimey! Sir Jerry works very hard at winning. He loves to win.
Now, does he know when to cut the cord? Nope! He hangs on to players way past their expiration dates. He clings to marginal players (talents and production not matching their pay) such as Dez, TWill, and the entire defense.
But Sir Jerry, bloke, lives and breathes winning.
That is something I can't believe: that he does not care about winning.

He absolutely cares about winning. But only winning HIS way. In Jerry’s mind he’s still standing in the shadow of other great football minds that worked for him. He wants to be looked at the way we looked the great coaches and football gurus. That’s why he does things differently. Forget the winning formula. He just cares about the Jerry formula.

Fans are dumb

You were just 13-3 last year

Emmitt Smith knows football. Emmitt Smith did not how to transfer that knowledge to viewers

When exactly would you have fired Garrett?

After three straight 8-8? Because that was really your only chance. You weren't going to fire him after he lost Tony Romo in 2015.

The two times Jason job was on the line, he pulled a 12 win and 13 win season out his culo.

When do you fire him?

I think he's gone if he doesn't win at least 9 this season.

That Tampa 2 worked in Chicago not that long ago.

Why? Elite Personnel up front?

I hate whiners

Jerry wanted us to take Manziel in the 1st Rd to remember......

Lucky Steven booted him out of the War room and JJ is past it as there is no Emmitt / Aikman and Irvin available anymore let alone Jimmy Johnson as a HC who the idiot fired.

I am so over JJ ruling this franchise.

Alot of things to criticize him for, Callahan isn't one of them. I'd take that guy back in a second to be our OL coach.
