I feel this true and I want to add that it's time Jerry got over it. Jimmy hasn't been here for 30 years. Dude get over it, Jerry is still emotionally stuck on Johnson getting the credit for the team he built. It's time to get over it and let it go, it's been way to long to keep hearing Jimmy's name come up season after season for 30 years.

It's very obvious Jerry isn't getting over it. Jerry isn't interested in winning if he isn't involved and receiving the credit he pursues as a football guy.

His ego wants to produce a winner, to show he can win one without any excuse that Jimmy built that championship team.
Of course he is about money, but at his age, I would bet he cares more about a championship than a few extra millions.

I totally agree. Jerry wants to win badly. He'd give up a few million to do it but and it's a huge BUT... only his way. That's the killer !!

He didn't appreciate winning championships when he didn't recieve the credit he was pursuing for being the football guy he thinks he is or wants to be.

The Dallas Cowboys is Jerrys ultimate fantasy team. He's not interested in playing ball if he's not involved and in a position to recieve the credit he feels is due.

He bought the team from a businessman mode and he has never stopped thinking that way.

Funny thing happened, we actually won Super Bowls. Then things changed.

He lost perspective about winning when he decided he wanted credit for when or if it happened.

And that was a very very very long time ago.

Jerry won in the non-salary cap era and just like the Yankees in baseball could win the SB every year if you would
let him spend what he would like to. He just can't seem to wheel and deal in the salary cap era that well. They've
tried several approaches over the last 21 years though none worked that well.

We have been against the cap because he drafted well and have resigned our own guys. That money doesn’t come from his pocket. The Steelers nor are the Packers historically big free agent spenders.

Jerry would sell his soul to the devil to win a Super Bowl again but his ego is too big to take some of the steps needed. He has already came a long way though...our drafting is night and day since McClay took over.

The cap excuse is just that, an excuse.

You saw a team last night that was up against the cap in the Eagles and through creativity and aggressiveness, their GM was able to alleviate their cap problems by finding ways to dump bad contracts and making shrewd deals.

So in an offseason when people thought the Eagles would have issues given the mess Chip Kelly made, they added Alshon Jeffrey, Torrey Smith in FA and added Tim Jernigan and Ronald Darby through shrewd trades.

I am no Jerry hater but frankly, I just don't think he really has a clue how to build a legit, consistent contender. They are too extreme with how they approach FA and while they've drafted better, Jerry still cant stop from taking on what look like unnecessary risks in the draft - Gregory, Smith, etc.

He cares about winning. You can see it in his reactions in the booth. The problem is, he's more of a businessman than he is a football guy, and he wants to be just as well known as the latter. The majority perception is he is not even though football is now his primary business, and I believe that bugs him. So this overshadows every decision, even at the expense of the winning. There is no real loss of the bottom line in football. If the bottom line was dependent upon winning, e.g., if he had to win to stay in business, then he'd probably be very successful.

Other teams put together multiple playoff seasons together but the Cowboys tease their fan base with what might be but never comes. 2 playoff wins since the mid 1990's and epic collapses in playoff games. Meanwhile the defense is as bad as it always is. Have to score 40 points a game to win.

Yup, this is our fate as Cowboys fans. Jerruh just keeps getting richer and our teams remain mediocre. He really does not care about winning another Super Bowl. Your list confirms it. Starting with Red Ball, the most obvious joke of a coach. He manages games like he is playing checkers while the other coach is playing chess. He is clueless.
