Wonder how many start dumping their tickets now, especially for lower cost. and other teams fans scoop them up even more.
But somehow I do not see Jerry seeing this is enough to make a change.

In 2 years, if not next year, Cleveland will have surpassed us. Eagles did it in 2 years....TWO YEARS....they have coaches getting unknown players to play very well....in 2 years they did this....we have after 8 years...well, we need a war daddy, we have a secret sauce, we had injuries (which that does not help) however, other teams succeed with injuries. this has even taken me a few years to truly admit.

We also get...let's try to be cute and out smart other teams by gambling on player XYZ....we want the RKG's, but get punked time and time again. But I will say we as fans can't for see that all the time either.
I wouldn't exactly call Blount, Jeffrey, Smith, Ertz, Celek, Jenkins, Hicks, Cox, Kelce, Johnson, Long, Warmack and Sproles unknown players.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Garrett as coach
Marinelli as DC, Tampa 2, that was Dungy and Kiffin scheme, 10-38 as head coach
No FA signings
Callahan, lol
But his wallet getting fatter and fatter but we haven't won since 1995.

I'm just venting, It's just sad that our team can't compete year in year out but always has the highest grossing team and always have the highest ratings on TV.

I feel like a Knicks fan :(
It's the opposite.

He tried too hard too win. See trades for Joey Galloway and Roy Williams.

He spent excessively in terms of real dollars because giving out huge bonuses to get under the cap near-term costs a lot extra in real dollars because of the time value of money.

I always believed that Jones wanted to be a great football guy and truly loved the game. I still do. Its life and success and ego that changed the basic man.

the team is 2-3
they had a pretty amazing season last year, everybody everybody knows who Dak and Zeke are
assume Dallas has greatest line in the nfl or close
Witten is hall of famer
all these things are said and the team was 13-3 really could be 14-2 but didnt care about eagles game

now if! the team was 2-2 and won last game, people would be acting completely different. maybe not happy, hell im disappointed to but that is how close it is
so all this fire Garrett stuff is just silly
now Jerry doesnt care?
there are several hof players that actually know Jerry, spent many many years around him daily that say
Jerry wants to win.
they all say that.
Jerry cares and Jerry wants to win.
not some dude typing on a keyboard raging because his fantasy team is last
actual pro athletes saying Jerry wants to win.
does he want money? um yes?

back to Garrett.
these things dont happen overnight. the offense has started slowly and sense people know why. the offensive line mainly.
the defense is both adjusting with new players plus missing Lee plus playing Jaylon and maybe just missing a couple of key needed players like maybe a linebacker or something.
this isnt like this forum where they do badly and say well we are 2-3 blow up the franchise, get Garrett in here im gonna fire him
no. first they look at the body of work both good and bad. does he have the pieces he needs where is the problem and whose fault.
maybe there is fault to go around?
so if they ever get to the point that they feel they gave Garrett every opportunity then
then they start thinking about a new coach. but they still dont just make silly rush decisions because they know coaches are not as easy to fiind as casual might think.
you can make it much much worse

it isnt perfect or even good right now but i can remember before the culture change when guys didnt fight or always care. if you believe in your team then you give them the chance to turn it around.
or maybe you are not really a fan idk

So.....Jerry purchased the worst team in the NFL. Hired coaches, made decisions back when he was much more involved than today, managed to win 3 super bowls. Since then, he has hired from within, without, HOF coaches, new coaches, let Parcells buy his own groceries, provided the groceries, put together a team that is now drafting with great success while listening to coaches, gives his players nothing but the best places to train, practice, and play.................but you guys think he doesn't care and doesn't know what he's doing. Cowboys fans are so spoiled, having won 5 super bowls and lost 3.

If you think it's easy to win a SB, why have the Eagles never won one, yet we are so envious of their current situation just because they've won some games to start the season. With the salary cap and all the other rules that are designed to create parity, it is harder to win a SB than ever. And even when all the pieces are there, be they QB, OL, defense, coaching, front office....even then there's a heck of a lot of luck involved.

Garrett and Linehan may not be the best (heck, they aren't my first choices if I was given a choice), but they are both good enough to lead the right team in the right year to a SB title. Marinelli? I'm not so sure. I, for one, am glad Jerry isn't changing coaches every 3 years like some teams. You guys would have dumped Tom Landry after his many years of failure and disappointment, after his stupid ideas like thinking his system was more important than the players and even alternating QB's on every play. I may feel differently in a few years, but right now I believe in the direction the Cowboys are headed after years of poor drafting and poor coaching and even uninspired effort. Even Jimmy Johnson had to tweak the whole thing by firing his own OC to bring in Norv Turner, along with trading for Charles Haley before getting it right.

On the one hand, Garrett has had plenty of time, but on the other hand, even with Romo, he never had the OL or the defense to sustain anything. Heck, he wasn't even in charge of hiring his own coaches and coordinators for a while there. This team is improving and on the right path, in my opinion. The defense has to get to at least an average status in the next couple of years, but even if the defense becomes dominant, there's never any guarantee of a SB run....it just ain't that easy.

I do think that Jerry's ego has gotten in the way of the Cowboys becoming a more consistent playoff winning team and getting to/winning a Superbowl since Jimmy left.

Jerry wants to win. However, that desire does not automatically translate into a good strategy for winning. The Cleveland Browns want to win too.

He cares. He wants to win.

He just can't set aside his ego and realize he probably needs to make some significant changes if he wants to win a SB in his remaining years on this planet.
he has made changes with Stephen making a majority of decissions.
