I remember the day he explained we might had two pro bowl level Qbs, in Hutchinson and Carter
Jones fans masquerading as Cowboys fans agreed.

Probably said something like "Jerry won a national championship at Arkansas in the 1960s; he knows more about football than you!"

Also, the same man who said that soon after would go on to trade a 3rd round pick to the Texans for Drew Henson, who just a year earlier drafted Henson in the 6th round.

This man knows football and he knows quarterbacks.

What is "all in"? Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: "Your definition of what is all in and mine might not be the same thing, but I’m trying to win the games this year with my decision. So I’m all in to this year."

Jones later expanded: "I've drafted quarterbacks for the future, OK. I would be reluctant to do that this year. That's an example: Use our first pick for quarterback this year, for the future if you had an opportunity there. You are at 24 and the greatest thing since ice cream, he's sitting there. I'd be reluctant to do that this year. That's called all in this year."

Of all years to draft a QB, this year would be a good opportunity imo.
There could be a couple or more strong prospects who might not get drafted in the 1st rd.

Heck, if we didn't grab one in the first, we've basically been throwing away our 2nd rounder for years anyway...

What's the problem with grabbing one there?

But unfortunately, Jerry's "All in with Dak" philosophy is just so damn depressing.

It’s just such a stupid way to quantify being “all in”
lol yes, and none of what he said had anything to do with going all in, not the all in other people would call all in !

He is just saying they are going to be the best they can be
to try to go further in the playoffs this coming season.
That is what every team does ! lol,31 teams are doing that now.

I say 31, but there may be a few who do the REAL ALL IN !

Jerry is afraid to do the real all in, he likes to patch the holes in the boat he has and then set sail with whatever he has come sept.

Jerry doesnt build with a plan, he just patches and fixes the team he has so he can try for a SB . He thinks getting in the playoffs,
is all you need to do, then the rest is luck.

He cited the 2007 giants as a not that good of a team who got in the playoffs, got lucky and went all the way.
That told me he just doesnt get it.

Saying that anyone of 500 coaches could win a SB with that team in 93 , was sort of true.(the team jimmy built was so good barry won 1 but I credit the players more than barry) but it told me jerry doesnt value HC's.
He thinks it is all about having the right personnel , then any coach is good enough.

Stephen saying they dont have a culture problem
tells me they dont know anything about culture or what people mean when we
say dallas has a culture problem ! The jones boys are clueless about culture, so that says to me they cant fix it or make it better as
they dont understand the concept !

This is all funny and entertaining though. But at same time it has gotten old and I think I may have to find another team to root for
to actually go to SB's and win one.
I have done that already with other teams and it was fun. Seattle, Patriots, TB with brady all won SB, and some others that got there but didnt win.

I will always have a casual interest in cowboys, but with the jones running things, there wont be anymore SB's, not even getting to one much less
winning it.

If dallas had somehow got to this last SB with luck bad calls etc, does anyone here think they could have beat KC and mahomes ?????
Dallas is just 2 levels below KC and jerry cant get them up to that higher level.

He can however go all in lol or what he thinks is all in ! lol
He just made a fool of himself and doesnt even realize it, and he is the guy in charge of everything cowboys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :omg:
:facepalm::laugh::thumbdown:

Does this really surprise anyone? Same philosophy that's given the same results for the past 25 years. You'd think at some point Jerry would self assess and be honest with himself for once but the same pride that's made him a billionaire is the same pride that keeps this team where it's at. Sadly, Stephen is no better at all and maybe even worse.

Eh, it's a bit of entertainment on a Sunday afternoon, it costs me nothing to moan and groan and say I told you so.

What legacy? He's always been one of the worst GM's in the league. The only thing he did right was hire Jimmy and let him control the personnel while he focused on the business side of the organization those first few years.
And the only reason he hired Jimmy was he was his college roommate. Rooms assigned by alphabetical order.

Thank God it's Jimmy Johnson and not Jimmy Wilson.

I wish they showed that season of Hard Knocks again. It was pathetic. From that moment to Jerry describing the Campo statue he will have created for Valley Ranch to Pete Hunter at a McDonald's drive thru amazed that they don't have cheesesteaks.

Jerry when asked about Carter….

“He’s a Libra, I’m a Libra…”

What??

Much of the ridiculousness has been forgotten over the years. I’m just now getting to where I’ve had about enough.

How were 31 other teams worse than us? That math ain't math'n.

I meant the ones with worst records than ours. That's my fault for failing to type what I meant because I was preoccupied while typing.

How many teams are trying harder?
I think that is a legitimate question

I have no idea what he's saying except it's definitely not 'we will be aggressive in free agency and the draft to be more competitive this year'
They are gonna nickel and dime in FA again.

These people are arrogant, stubborn morons. It’s really that simple.
