Mosely would be a safe pick. play the strong side. Just dont know bout these alabama players. They seem to turn into average in the NFL.

Mosely is a great pick at 16, thats if he's even available, Kid was a baller all 4 years at Bama and made some pretty good plays in his career. Don't think Mosely will drop to 16 but if he did Jerry has to pull the trigger.

Bama has some pretty good 1st round LBs in Upshaw & Hightower, the only one that didn't pan out was Raider's Rolando McClain who currently retired/out the league.

We are talking about NFL quality and READY players. If you get HOPE from those 2 preseason articles, it seems the bar is loweing and the need to pick the powerball is the strategy

The guy could be a player. That's all I said. He's worth keeping an eye on and could make the roster. Give me a break.

McClain was also a mental case.

Nothing personal....Matt Johnson has become the face of my personal pet peeve where someone who has really shown nothing is deemed the next great hope or projects to solidify the position. When in actuality, the player was a reach/gamble and overhyped by the organization. Stanbeck, AOA, Fasano, Hanna, Coale, etc.

Collective think overvalues talent then its ping pong/chicken and egg to find the reason player A didnt pan out (DLine, LBs, Safty, CB, injuries, luck). I myself cant say any player is NFL worthy until they at least make the field for a few games or played regularly against NFL type competition.

Not meaning to attack you

But like Heath, I can see Drew Brees, Manning, etc targeting JOhnson and I have nothing to tell me the outcome would be any different than Heath

Hanna does not belong in that rogue's gallery. Not yet.

Upshaw and Hightower have not been "pretty good" yet. Neither has been able to keep a starting job and have been mild disappointments.

If you are using the Alabama LBer reputation as a barometer to evaluate Mosley, it is not a pretty picture. I personally think he can be okay, I just worry what some think is an issue with durability and longevity. Just makes me a little bit nervous and while that is not really fair, you can't help but do that considering how poorly the highly touted Crimson Tide players have done.

He does if we use him as the primary blocker again this year....use him as more of a receiver, then I agree with you. He may be worthy...hasn't been given the chance there

I can follow you here. I just think comparing him to certified busts like AOA and Stanback is a little unfair.

Well, he was a 6th rd pick, so the bust is really more on the "heightened expectations" placed on him from others since Escobar was Captain invisible for 15 games and the "commitment" to the 12 package that was not exactly awe inspiring for the last X years. Fair point though - He's not a Robert Brewster.

I kept saying to pay attention to whats going on in Dallas. They really like what they have in Church Wilcox and Heath

dont put any stock into what jerry says pre-draft.
he is going to lie regularly.

Lol true, but TC has been talking about this since the season finished. These words have been coming with Dallas Coaches

possible they believe that for sure.
but again it is hard to put much stock in anything said in the pre-draft off-season.

That was an uncalled for reminder.

I still remember people defending that reach because he was in Gosselin's top 100.
The Cowboys seem to have problems with players that they didn't interview prior to the draft.

Brewster failed more due to poor mental makeup than lack of physical ability. It was reported that they had not interviewed him.

It was also reported that they didn't interview Claiborne.

On the flip side, Callahan spent extensive time with Frederick priot to the draft.

I'd be surprised if we went linebacker simply because it would almost certainly mean giving up on Carter. I don't think you draft a SLB in the 1st round.

I don't think it's about giving up on Carter..

it's more about having 3 capable Lbers on the field at the same time.

It's also about looking for Lee's backup.

We know he needs spelling at the position to make it thru the season.

Personally..I'd like to see Lee go to SSLber and draft a MLBer who can stay healthy in the middle for a change.

Mosley worries me,he seems light and I don't want another injury risk LB on this team.

I wasn't too impressed either. He looked skinny. I was kind of surprised @ his lack of ball skills too. He didn't catch a single ball in the drills
