Oh I agree. But I still feel like when you have the BPA on the board, at a place of need, you find a way to make it work.

I don’t hate Schoonmaker being drafted there.

This is a Super Bowl caliber team. But I worry the train could come off the track with injuries at certain positions.
That is my point. He would not have been on our board because he was not a scheme fit. Plus Schoon blocks the C gap like a boss.

The defensive end position is now strong and deep for Dallas. That now is not a failure event.
Agreed, thought my point was about the difference between that moment in time and the choice to take Schoonmaker over Torrance.
I'll take it one step further on the Watt miss. Had we chosen Watt, we may not have taken Parsons. So in the end, it's even better.

2014 on I agree. People are down on the oline too much. It's been elite to top 10 every year 14-23 besides 18 when they had a lot of injuries. So I see the concern for depth there.

Yea, 2014 is the peak of the line, but even 2013, before Martin the line was pretty damn good. Waters/Bernadeau were solid at RG.

Obviously Tyron Smith gets injured a lot, so there is some concern there. Outside of the obvious injury risk it just comes down to luck and if your team has good luck or no luck at all when it comes to injuries in the trenches.
I actually think Dallas has some depth with upside in some spots. Didn't expect them to still go this long without a backup center better than Hoffman unless they feel good Bass could wing it for a game.

Didn't some teams trade just in front of the Cowboys targeted picks for several years as well?

That's quite the unreasoned leap to reach an unreasonable conclusion,,, player trades and free agency are more reasonable options not to mention they could have addressed in the last draft too.
Ok, what players would you suggest we trade?

We did sign Free Agents

We did draft OL

I'm not sure what your plans is that is better than 31 other teams who all have lake of high quality depth on OL.

And you've offered no solution, so help us all out here.

The one who is desperately trying to make a roster as a backup C and is slated for our PS? Might not be NFL talent. Sure you want to count him as a positive?
I count everybody when someone claims that they did nothing.

BPA for you is not BPA for the draft board. If Torrance wasn’t even on their board, how do you expect him to be BPA?

Torrance isnt really a good fit and was a bit overrated. He would play LG here and would have a real problem with quicker 3t's. He is probably an RG only in the NFL. If they wanted OL in round 2 they should have moved up to take the guy they were debating in the first, Bergeron
Yup Torrance is slated to be an RG in Buffalo.

I see some suggesting we draft OL depth in rounds 1-3. Are y’all crazy? You want to draft a guy who hopefully won’t play in the first three rounds? You want to spend day 1/2 picks on depth?

What do y’all think this is lol. You can’t draft 8 OL in the top 3 rounds guys. At some point mid/late round guys have to be developed, like Steele and Biadisz. Richards and Bass seem to be on their way.

Sign Lamb first...
They aren't mutually exclusive deals. Lamb's deal could take some time to work through, and the Cowboys can't put all other business on hold in the meantime.
