It crumbled at the end of every season, with Lovie and Rivera. Never once finished strong - Tommie Harris or no.

It wasn't just Tommie Harris, although he's probably the best DT in the game.

don't talk about it - give an example of where's he wrong.
show us a jones compliment that's not conditional or followed up with a slam.
show us a jones compliment that's not backhanded and in it's own right, another insult.

go ahead.

till then, he looks right to me.

No answer huh?

Wade Phillips first staff hire should be to bring Dan Marino and NutriSystem on board......

4-3 DT - maybe.

But what I said was, regardless of Tommie Harris, the Bears defense crumbled every year under Rivera and Lovie. Not just this year.

I knew you'd have nothing on that one. Answer the question. What players did they lose?
and don't forget to watch Vince in the Pro Bowl Saturday.:laugh2:
:laugh2: Vince Young in the Pro Bowl. Thanks, I needed a laugh.

I hate to break it to some of you..but Parcells 3-4 and Phillips 3-4 are very similar. The only difference was that Wade had the personnel to be more aggressive. If Parcells had SD defensive personnel...he would have lead the league in blitzing also.

I was really happy that Jerry was interviewing all the coaches he did but it was just a smokescreen to divert flack once he hired another "Best Buddy". Wade Phillips is an old man, friend of Jerry ala Switzer. The good ol boy club in full effect. Jerry used to be innovative now he's just "safe". I hope everyone is ready for a few more years of 9-7, 8-8..... Jerry has basically ruined our proud franchise because of his ego. Give it up old man, let your son take over so the fans won't continue to be disappointed anymore. You dont have it anymore Jerry. Your day has come and gone.

Sing it brother. I, for one, like hearing the truth.

Unlike Wade Phillip's team that....wait, what did they ever do again? Oh, that's right, nothing.

The reason the 3-4 is a failure and will continue to be a failure is because the players simply overall don't fit it. Roy Williams, CERTAINLY doesn't nor does Demarcus Ware or Greg Williams who played in a 4-3. We dont have the proper linebackers for a 3-4 either. It's a cluster-you know what and it was exposed by Sean Payton. I surely hope Wade can fix it but I do not think he's a better coach than Parcells. He is Denver and Buffalo's trash. He was pelted with veggies in his last Bronco game, now he is our HC. :lmao:

Now this is just plain silly. A safety not a fit for the 3-4? *** does front 7 alignment have to do with coverage schemes? Dware not a fit as an outside lb in a 3-4? You are going to have to sell that garbage down the street.

Sorry I mean Greg Ellis, you're right about that. In a 3-4 a strong safety has to cover way more than he should. Roy Williams is TOTALLY not fit for that duty. Any blind person could see that or did you go to the stevie wonder school of player evaluation? LMAO!

I would like to remind you that Mr. Jones has 3 Super Bowl Championships and regarded by many as one of/if not the BEST owner in the NFL. :star:

Don't people see that Phillips is a solid hire and this move gives every indication that a commitment to Garrett is in place.

Had a younger coach been hired then Garrett would likely be on his way to another team as their headcoach in two years time, now in a two to four year mark he'll probably inherit the Cowboys' reigns.

Man, I actually laughed out loud when I read this! Good stuff lolol. Now, my contention is I don't see how the front 7 alignment changes the types of coverage schemes played behind it. No doubt Roy has been playing more coverage, particularly in comparison to his first year or two, however, that is due to him being asked to play more in coverage to offset the FS position deficiencies we have/had rather than changes in the front seven.

I think most would tell you coverage schemes for the secondary are pretty standard regardless if there is a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme being run up front.

Personally, I dont have a problem with Wade as HC. But jeez....just let the guy pick his own defensive coaches. There is just noway that Bowles would be high on Wade list of coaches he wants....so if Bowles is named DC...this basically tells me that Jerry is the quasi-head coach...high up in his office.
