he "hired" 1 person. that's it. he kept who he viewed some key members around and denied them permission to go elsewhere.

most of the "good" coaches for assistants aren't exactly just sitting around waiting for wade at this point. he's got what, 7-8 coaches to go hire. but instead of seeing that he can and will put his stamp on the coaches, you pull out what suits your view and ignore the rest of the facts.

why? only thing zrin and i can think of is that you need to be right more than...

why? maybe for the same reasons i slammed parcells - but at least i give unconditional credit for what parcells did right while here. you've yet to do that for jones.

I can't help it if pointing out these facts upset you and zrinkill so much. I have never said this situation is doomed or anything like that. I have just factfully pointed out similarities in how Jerry is dealing with issues now like he did in the Gailey/Campo years. It is yet to be seen if he continues all the way down that road and whether or not it will succeed or fail. I just know it didn't work last time and I really prefer not to attempt it again.

there's a lot of ways to win - the best way is to make the best of what pieces you have and put together a *team* across the board utilizing everyone's strengths vs. having them follow a rigid plan.

2. it's "annoying" because they're not facts, they're your own skewed logic.
3. it's annoying cause you'll never give jones an ounce of unconditional credit regardless of the circumstances.

So you can label me however you like, and whine and moan if I don't sugarcoat his track record and blindly kiss his arse with my silver-and-blue colored glasses on 24/7. I just call it like I see it. You'll just have to get over it.

Well if you have no "hate" for Jerry Jones then you obviously are glutton for punishment...I hate him for how he treated Tom Landry. That was enough for me to never forgive him no matter how many SB's he wins but that's just me....

Winning is ALL that matters and we havent done a lot of it in 10 years. By leading edge I mean, we used to define the league. We were always the team that defined what other teams were doing. Teams would have to counter us because we would design new schemes, new ideas of offense and defense. Now we are just an organization of followers and retreads. Even in the 90's we were innovative..young coaching staff, new ideas. It just seems to me we are stuck in the mud no matter who we draft or who we hire.

You same winning is all that matters but then you go off about designing new schemes.....whatever. Go ahead and be miserable. I'll be happy to see this defense finally play up to it's potential.

Nothing is final as of yet. A contract is still being hammered out but ESPN did say Phillips will be bringing in some coaches as well.

If so, then Wade shouldn't have a problem retaining him. But...it should be his choice. Same with Sparano. If they are both kept along with Garrett being hired, then it would be a tough sell to say it was all Wade's decisions.
