Jerry Jones: Cowboys won’t initiate trade talks to improve roster before deadline

The Cowboys may well be counted as "upper echelon," depending on one's definition of the term. If you limit it to two teams, I'd say "no"; six, I'd say "maybe."

I do dislike the upscale arrogance underlying the Jones business philosophy...as if they're above going out onto the street to make deals. Something Philadelphians have no problem with whatsoever.

LOL.

Stop.

You think the best GMs in football just sit by waiting for the phone to ring? They do not.

I really wonder how many freaking years of ineptitude will it take for some of you to stop defending Jerry and the dumb things he does every year.
It’s not saying he isn’t or won’t pick up the phone.

But when he talks desperate and is actively calling we end up getting fleeced like Galloway and Roy Williams.

They will make a move. But it’s like Gilmore, Cooks, Hankins or Lance. They didn’t say “we are looking to make a move!!!”

CB? No. They have Izzy and Wright
RB? Not much out there. You could’ve signed Cam Akers for no picks and passed
I like Mukuamu but hes only played in nickle for a short time and has yet to even see the field this year. I have no confidence in Wright.

And how do we know whats our there at RB if we dont even call to see who could be available? I'm calling Denver and seeing if Javonte Williams can be had, I'm calling Jets and asking about Breece Hall, I'm calling Tennessee and asking about Henry. Its not that there are a ton of great additions out just waiting to get traded, its the stubborness to even try because "we like our guys". And CB and RB are not our only needs. We could be trying to get a vet LB or some O line depth instead of relying on just rookies. I'm sure no one had Eagles trading for an All Pro on there trade deadline bingo card yet they made it happen.

I agree with this as well. They've made calls and I believe they want a bargain deal like they got Cooks and Gilmore for. I think the days of trading a 1st for Amari Cooper type deals are gone.
Thats all we do these days. Bargain shop. But now all our mid round picks for next year are gone. If we want someone that will make a difference, we need to pay up.

Maybe we can get rid of some dead weight and pick up some mid rounders. What can we get for Gallup or Armstrong?

Philly has a better roster than the Cowboys and they still upgrade. Niners last year with a better roster went out and got better adding CMC. But yet Jerry says he is satisfied with the current roster.
The same Philly we beat last year. The dooming is getting ridiculous.

I don't know about you but I'm not so sure they make the playoffs this year. Have you
looked at their remaining schedule lately?
we good enough to make the wildcard, We aint getting much further if the team refuses to re-evaluate the schemes.

Jerry would never agree to do that. He knows what the fans think about him and Stephen and would never open himself up to the barrage of hate that would certainly be thrown at him. He would take the cowards way out.
no i mean just let us speak for him we already know what he's going to say

How can he have "all the money in the world" and not have success?

The emotion driven responses crack me up
So does super high level of being a homer, putting the cowboys above everything and everyone in life

Good strategy....don't show your cards
Not, Jerry saying he put together another SB roster and if some teams have elite talent they want to dump for a 6th or 7th and eat the $$ he’s open for business.

And they never win anything outside of regular season record. You gotta play the game when the window to win is opened. I agree thats not every year but i thought we where contenders. Maybe jerry doesn’t believe
When were we contenders? The last time we were contenders were in 2007, and arguably in 2014. That's it.

My preference would be that he doesn't speak at all. Both him and his idiot son. It does nothing to advance the football interests of the Dallas Cowboys.

Not a Jerry or Stephen advocate but they know more about football than 80% of the people here

Maybe Armstrong can net us a 6th. Gallup? I see nothing at all.

I
I think most FOs have his mindset. He just makes it a bit more obvious. If he really wanted to win a SB (which would mean more money for him), then it's clear the trade that he has to make. Maybe it's not guaranteed to work, but I like the odds better with DH or Williams in January than without them. But maybe Jerry gets his kicks from laughing while the 49ers destroy us in the playoffs. What's a loss when we get boatloads of money?
jerry is terrible at working out trades. He doesn’t follow the nfl closely enough know what players can be had for cheap and who can come in and help right now. He is not a GM and that bites this team in the butt every year when our NFC rivals are strengthening their teams.
