Jerry Jones: Cowboys won’t initiate trade talks to improve roster before deadline

This is why the Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl in 27 years, and it is why they will not win a Super Bowl for some time in the future. It would be fine if his primary competition was willing to sit still and do nothing, but the Eagles are clearly willing to make moves to improve in areas of weakness.

Jerry is playing for the NFC East. The Eagles are thinking about a Super Bowl. They see SF is flawed and so are the Chiefs. The Eagles see this as an opportunity to jump up over everyone else to win a Super Bowl. These opportunities do not come along that often. Injuries and luck conspire to end the dreams of lots of teams. You have to go get it. It is not coming to you.

And hopefully Jerry also will not leak any proposed trade possibility - that other NFL teams can clue in and
beat him to the punch (ala Philly Eagles)

Keep a close lid on Jerry ... as hard and difficult as it really must be

Curb your enthusiasm !!

I don’t take this in a negative way. Teams often call other teams … by this you don’t get taken to the woodshed as they are more desperate by calling you. It’s smart business.

With that being said, with our current roster, I still see this team as the 3rd/4th best team in the NFC. Lions and 49er had some stinkers and the Eagles are the Eagles.
LOL.

Stop.

You think the best GMs in football just sit by waiting for the phone to ring? They do not.

I really wonder how many freaking years of ineptitude will it take for some of you to stop defending Jerry and the dumb things he does every year.

This is the right approach from Jerry. We do not want to give up our R1-3 draft picks. We would be paying top dollar if we go asking. We are not one player away.
Hahahaha.

Inquiring about adding a player that you think might help you doesn't mean you have to give up your 1-3 round picks.

I just can't believe the amount of rationalizing and excuse making that still goes on for Jerry. Hahaha.

Of course not. Very few teams go all out to win championships. It's a money making business. That's the main concern. Not acting like it's a computer sim against friends to win it all. Some teams actively pursue this, most don't. Like most teams, the Cowboys don't play that game at the trade deadline. Nor do they do it in FA.
And they never win anything outside of regular season record. You gotta play the game when the window to win is opened. I agree thats not every year but i thought we where contenders. Maybe jerry doesn’t believe

Manalive, anyone defending Jerry at this point has that memory loss thingie like in that Adam Sandler movie, 50 First Dates. No way you can still support him unless you lose your memory every day.

No but it means you will likely pay more. And who is this player?

If I was currently in the Dallas local area and going to the game this Sunday. I would most definitely start a "We Want Henry" chant in all 4 quarters.

Enough is enough Jerral Wayne Jones, fight back!

You think?

I want Henry as well, as I've made clear. Either way, they're both on teams who are wanting to sell. Jerry should be buying a RB. Either could energise our running back room, and both compliment Pollard.

Is there any personnel or managerial guy in the NFL who takes Jerry’s gibberish seriously? I don’t see how Jerry believes the Cowboys are in the upper echelon when they lost not only to SF, but to that woeful AZ as well; and haven’t played the Eagles, Dolphins, Bills or Seahawks.
Jerry needs to lose the power of speech

Philly had a big need in improving there secondary and went out and got an All Pro. We really not even gonna do a Hankins level trade to shore up RB or CB? We deserve our inevitable Divisional round loss if thats how we run the team.
I don't know about you but I'm not so sure they make the playoffs this year. Have you
looked at their remaining schedule lately?

Nothing that Jerry says is real. He puts out so much bs, no one takes him serious.

If they (Jerry, Stephen, Will) want someone, they will make calls. This is bs.
I agree with this as well. They've made calls and I believe they want a bargain deal like they got Cooks and Gilmore for. I think the days of trading a 1st for Amari Cooper type deals are gone.
