Obviously, Kiffin has convinced Jerry he can build a defense that can drag a offense along to the super bowl. In the meantime, trade Tony to a team who will protect him, play Orton, and we'll be sitting pretty for a QB next draft.

should be required reading for those that keep claiming the O line is not so bad. That we just have to let them play together a little longer.

Meanwhile Romo gets worked.

Exactly, and we've totally wasted Romo's best years. I can't see him progressing as a player substantially, only regressing IMO.

If I was tony I would have made a call to his agent. THe next meeting between the agent and Steven would go like this

"The price just went up."

Told everyone back in early December what is, IMHO, Jerry's plan for the offseason regarding the OL in this post:
http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4878483&postcount=24

The only thing I didn't get right was Jerry actually saying that the reason we didn't need to address OL was because of Romo's escapability. Really, I didn't think even Jerry was actually stupid/drunk enough to say this - I was wrong, obviously.

I still believe that by the time training camp rolls around, all the other items I described will have occurred.

Don't bother telling me that if I don't like the way Jerry is destroying the team I grew up loving since 1964, I should just root for another team. Perhaps some of you people can root for whatever team strikes your fancy whenever you decide to. As for me, I have rooted for the Cowboys for 48 years and I won't change now. I'll just have to come to terms with the reality that they will never again be a good team until Jerry is no longer the decision maker (if I live that long).

Actually, I got to enjoy 20 consecutive winning seasons, eight Superbowls, 5 Lombardi's and years of seeing Dallas regarded as one of the best run teams in the NFL before Jerry made them one of the laughingstocks of professional sports. I truly feel sorry for people like my niece and nephew who were raised as Cowboy fans after Jerry took over the decision making and will never enjoy Dallas (under Jerry) being a consistently good team. At least they have the chance of outliving this deranged alcoholic and someone more knowledgeable being in charge of decision making.

I will continue to root for the Cowboys but will just realize that their glory days have been over since 1995.

I honestly think he knows how bad our oline is considering he said lesser talent. Everyone in there right mind knows we need help on the oline. I think it will be addressed this offseason

Problem is the guy that can do something about it is not in his right mind.

Um, no, that's not a quote, that's a summary of the quote. I want to see/hear the actual quote and the context around it.

So depressing.

That's where I'm at too. Just completely depressed that this franchise is held hostage by him.

i understand what he's saying, but i think it's stupid... our ol has been atrocious but improved towards the end, however we definitely need an upgrade somewhere on the ol...

Our OL did not improve late in the year. It's like people forget how bad we were attempting to run the football in December.

We have a huge talent issue there and it's not going to get better until we find better players. But apparently that's not a priority, per your genius GM.

Just what the hell is wrong with JJ?[/quote]

..that's a very good question. He's a BILLIONAIRE so we have to assume he isn't stupid. THat leaves stubborn folks.....thoroughly and CRAZILY convinced he does NOT have to have a premier Oline to win. Despite the fact that when the team was winning super bowls they had superior olines. Now, it IS true that some of those guys were UFA's and low draft picks: Gogan, Tuinei, Nate Newton, etc....but I mean that was 20 YEARS ago folks. He just came out and finally preached what he's been practicing.....team will NEVER win with his failed policies in the trenches. shame......:bang2:

....I used 'depressed' the other day too and someone corrected me and said he was physically ill.....it's approaching that for me. Jones is the epitome of a stubborn arse.

Mostly apathetic at this point. I'm not really surprised he would think this way. He had no idea what he is doing. It's almost like he is playing Madden with our franchise.

We've known for a long time he has no idea what he's doing. The really depressing thing is that none of his yes-men around him have the balls to confront him on this issue that is destroying our franchise.
