Uh no. They jumped in front of us b/c they saw a whole bunch of nothing at TE on our roster. There is literally no other reason they move up 2 spots.

I keep reading that which makes me feel like maybe we got some draft value. Quinn always had those big penetrating space eaters in Atlanta and Mazi fits the Grady Jarret/ Dontari Poe mold.

Yea, it appears we drafted more out of need than best available talent. And TE is arguably a need too. Maybe not as much as DT but it’s arguable. And then picked up a DT in 2nd round . We could have moved up in 2nd round if needed.

This DT needs to be an impact Day 1 starter.

I was not happy last night but I listened to a cowboys podcast this morning that claimed 3 teams including KC were trying to trade with us to take Mazi, and I guess the Cowboys would rather have the player than whatever extra picks were offered. I was hoping for Kincaide but I knew the second Buffalo jumped in front of us (and I posted it on the board) what they were doing. The cowboys leave themselves so thin at some positions that it makes predicting our drafts pretty easy for other teams. Though,this is the first DT Jerry has drafted in round 1 since...... Russel Maryland? So that was out of character for us.

On draft days, its rarely about the player. Its about "did we maximize our draft value at this pick". It looks like we did. Thats all we can hope for and the rest is unknown.

Nothing? TE isn't a need for us, Ferguson and Hendershot where just fine when Shultz was out, especially when Cooper was at the helm. They're production dropped because Dak favored Shultz...

The Mocks I had followed had him in our second round. And why I was somewhat surprised .

TE is a huge need for us. We are just gonna disagree about it. Don't be shocked if Dallas finds a TE tonight.

this didnt all happen all the sudden. We had him penciled in at 26 since Thursday morning. Kincaid wasn't the guy we wanted at 26. Jerry would have made that happen if it was. Many "draft experts" hate that but its true. They were all duped. We are in luv with Ferguson and Hendy. Bobby Belt was melting when we didnt take a TE. It was funny. He was gaslit about TE for the last 2 months.

Who knows. We may well have taken Dalton Kincaid.
He was the high upside guy there to take that shot on.
And they may end up taking on night 2.

Guard and RB are bigger needs. Wr and TE are almost luxury picks. Only TE I'm taking in the next two rounds is Washington and that's because he's a freak and adds a dimension that upgrades the running game

I'll say this, TE is A NEED but a huge need? Hmm..I dunno about that. I do think we will add a TE in this draft. Its very talented and deep.
