Future GM and playa.........
What other thing? If you are going to call me out at least have the balls to be direct.
If you're talking about the election, I paid attention to the polls including at the end where they narrowed to a dead heat. I don't watch the news either. I read the polls directly. Sites like 538.com and realclear politics allow you to go right to the source material.
I have no issue calling which way the wind blows.
Sorry Jerry. Garrett says he can sleep good at night.
That is quite a lashing from his mentor to Garrett
Only someone with no pride can sleep well after that
Since Jerry is an idiot and non football guy wouldn't that mean the right football move would have been to spike the ball?
Right, the Cowboys are Jerry/Stephen's toy - he bought the team and they can do whatever they want with it.
Those are the privileges of a being a billionaire.
If you cannot stand that, you may as well find another team, because that is not going to change.
There is probably no need to fire Garret because Garrett would probably accept a time management person - which others have pointed out that other teams have.
So Jerry/Stephen can institute the change to get a time management person and patch that weakness.
Hopefully, they can fix the problem regarding using plays that are too one-dimensional and stop Marinelli's silly substitution obsession.
These problems tied one of our hands behind our back.
Even though we have superior talent and health, it was too much to overcome.
This mentality traces back to the 90's team where we were the goliath that other teams were able to game to gain an advantage.
To Jimmy's credit, he fixed problems after being gamed or other weakness exposed.
If Garrett cannot fix these problem, someone just needs to fix it for him.
If Heath did not failed in knocking Rodgers out of the game with that blind side shot, we would have won also.
I am quite disappointed in his failure.
I like Garrett but then I don't. I dont because he isnt accountable. He can never be real and just say... "I *** up, that's on me". He talks around things that don't need to be talked around. Almost because he knows it pisses people off.
Lol.
We could always kick the fg that next set of downs, btw. The only question is could we get the 2 yards in 2 downs with this OL and the #4 pick overall at RB. I mean, that's why we got him, right?
.....................and probably will end the same.
wow. you have no idea what was happening.Right. Playing it safe instead of playing to win.
We spiked to ball to make doubly sure we had enough time to kick the FG if we didn't get the first. Its also the reason why we went for the pass instead of the run in that situation.
That way, the defense and Marinelli are the ones to get roasted if they can't get a stop on AR with whatever time is left. I mean, everybody knows our defense is bad. Right?
JG and Linehan are safe in their cocoon that they did their jobs and tied up the game to give us a chance to win in OT.
Unfortunately for them, its not turning out that way.
He's come out and addressed this directly. You're never going to hear him be publicly critical of players or staff or the organization to the media, in a press conference, during the season. He says it's because his first obligation is to the team, and he knows what a circus the Dallas media environment is, and he's simply not going to give anybody any red meat to make a distraction out of.
Pretty regularly, reporters say he's a lot more candid in walk-offs. Then there are episodes like this week where he was a lot more candid after the season about what went on with the QB debate. Or two years ago where he talked at length about his approach to the media after the season was over and why he handles things the way he does. Or a few years back when they invited select media into the meeting rooms off-the-record so the people covering the team could learn more about the game and how the staff approaches it.
You may already know all this, or not care. My point is just that there's a reason he specifically avoids criticisms and uses word choices like 'opportunity' instead of 'concern' or phrases like 'we don't deal in hypotheticals.' It's all about managing perception. So, it's calculated, but not because he personally is looking to dodge criticism.
The fact that it pisses people off is just a bonus.
12 seconds?..........in order to spike it, he had the team set at the line. Take the snap---take a shot if its there, roll him out so he can throw it away with grounding..........but be agreesive, maybe use 6 seconds. But as noted, have practiced the situation as Parcells did.wow. you have no idea what was happening.
we spiked the ball to save a timeout so we could keep the middle of the field in play, not to play for overtime. the opposite of what you think is true. we gave up a down for 12 seconds because we didn't want a field goal.
I hear you. Spaulding QB'd his high school team to a Texas State Championship this year and he just earned his way into the front office, no nepotism needed. And Jerry wasn't even a QB like his grandson so you know the kid is smarter. Yes sir, the future for this franchise is bright.

Yea, just saying that Spaulding is Charolettes kid....the goofy one we see in the war room. Stephens son is the one who won the title
Saying this over and over doesn't make it true.
The math days all 3 decisions (spike, timeout and run a play) were all within a percent point or 3 in expected positive outcome for the Cowboys.
Anyone saying they definitively know what the right play was is simply ignorant to probability, game situation and process vs outcomes.
Yes. Because we preserved the timeout. That's part of the point.
If we run a play or use our timeout. Then we run the risk of Greenbay forcing us to the middle of the field and maybe you don't get a clean field goal attempt. Maybe it's rushed.
Spiking left the offense with the most flexibility.
And in any case can we remember that all three choices are virtually identical to win probability?
Can we remember it took a 36 yard pass with time expiring into a prevent defense for us to lose? Oh but they wouldn't have had time if we ran the ball! OK. What are the lottery numbers for tonight?
And if we ran and got minimal yards and Bailey misses the kick from range... Then we have people calling Garrett a coward. Guarantee it.
