Any personnel decision made by any GM's on signing a player because they are "friends", or want to "be friends", is wrong no matter the outcome.
The simple fact that I only see this type of decision being made by one GM should more than show that.
I will be rooting for Zeke and hope he succeeds, but it still doesn't change the fact that it you (GM) should never let personal feelings affect the decision on who to sign or not (clearly there are off the field exceptions). Just as much as signing a player because he wanted to play for your team shouldn't either.
