My God, Darren McFadden is going to be the starter next year.

This is plan A to this idiot.

IF he's the starter with D. Henry beginning the season as the #2 (with the assumption he is going to take over the #1 spot very early), I don't have a problem with that. McFadden is WAY DOWN THE LIST of concerns. But, OBVIOUSLY, the team needs their new RB of th future.

I agree with Jerrah... The team is closer to the SB than they are to the current 4-11 ( 4-12 ? ) record they're going to have this year. What they can't do is get complacent. They need to approach this upcoming off season with more urgency than the did this year's off season. I think this past off-season they approached it with a little more arrogance and short slightness than it was called for. They failed to make up ( coaching, talent acquisition, talent evaluation, talent development ) for scenarios where the primary star players were not available at different points of the season. I want to believe they've learned that lesson and will adjust their overall strategy.

The Cowboys' record says they're closer to the toilet bowl than the super bowl.

The ol' Parcells quote, you are what your record says you are. I get it. Problem is that in today's NFL that record changes just about every year. So, are the Cowboys a 12-4 team or a 4-12 team ? In my opinion, this team is closer to 12-4 than to 4-12. It's not a rebuilding team, it's not a terrible team. It's a team that has the potential to contend if they get a couple of breaks in the health department, get a little depth in some positions, and keep the current young players developing correctly.

Jerry hasn't had a team get past the second round of the playoffs in 20 years he always thinks we're close regardless of the record. He made similar comments during the 5-11 seasons.

If Cam Newton went down week 2, the Carolina Panthers would be picking in the top 10 with us. That is an offense with below average receivers, an average running game that is built around a QB's abilities and that QB is having a tremendous season. The defense is very good but Cam Newton's tremendous season is what makes them elite and helps them win all the close games they have had this year.

They have below average WRs because they lost their young stud Kelvin Benjamin. They still went 14-1. I'm impressed how they adjusted and doubt Dallas could do the same.

We just need a coaching overhaul.

What I think he's indicating in his statements, is that the HC, OC, and DC are safe.

I'd welcome new coaches for QB, DB, WR, and ST.........but the same old lame offensive scheme with no mid-game or end-game adaptations or adjustments will just give us another painful season.

If Jones had a realistic Honey-To-Do List in order of priority, it should read like this:

1) Get a new coaching staff
2) Fix the secondary
3) Find better DTs
4) Get Tony a good backup
5) Find a real #2 WR
6) Get another TB

You missed robjay04's point; the difference in production is the QB.

You are right, though, in arguing the coaches did not adapt to the assets left on the field. Once it was apparent the QBs could not run the offense, revisions needed to be made. The WRs, average though they may be, were productive with Tony because he could make the throws. Without Tony, the averageness of the WRs (minus Dez) was exposed.

How much does it cost, on average, to see a Cowboys game at Jerry's world?
