It would be awesome if it did.
I agree but he's not going to want to be the backup.
It would be awesome if it did.
Jerry said a lot of stuff. I bet that you didn't watch the entire interview. You seem to hear what you want to hear and not listen.
I hate to tell you, but Romo is one of the best right now and he is certainly capable of winning a Super Bowl or two. Especially on the current Cowboy team. That is one thing I just love about the Cowboys.
They are so unlike every other team in the NFL.
Their QB who has never won a single thing gets treated like he has.
Like some all timer, team legend that has a legacy to carry forward.
And no matter where on the Romo spectrum you fall on, this is true.
The closest is Peyton Manning and he at least won and lost a Super Bowl.

The interview is way over an hour. I don't believe you. Especially after you ran your mouth off before you even listened to the man.I watched the entire interview. You seem to hear what you want to hear. In Jerry's perfect world Romo will settle for the backup job but that's not going to happen.
White could of won also. Would Unitas have won if John Mackey had not have caught the tipped ball or if the Cowboys would have gotten the fumble that they actually recovered on the goal line? Things happen. Romo could easily win with the current team.I would love to believe your theory, but, gosh darn it. I just can't.
I go off results.
I used to think Danny White would have been just like Roger back in the day.
The results spoke otherwise.
So what?I agree but he's not going to want to be the backup.

He could be.
He is clairvoyant.
My opinion is different than yours. That's the way it is. I have my thoughts on you too but I won't post them here. We just view the situation differently.
Just stepping in to ask two questions..I kind of feel sorry for young fans.
Especially those who didn't even get to fully experience Aikman with a mature brain, let alone Staubach.
Romo is their shining standard.
It's all they got.
This poor sad sack of a case that if gosh darn it, they just got more talent around him, he would have been the greatest of all time.
That just tells me their poor waifs have not experienced enough football to make an educated decision and form a reasonable perspective.
At the end of the day, Romo will just be a tragic chapter in team history, very much like Danny White was.
White had more to work with in retrospect.
But to act like Romo is like another case like Dan Marino or others and is some all timer is just wrong. Dead wrong.
What will be really really enteraining is when he becomes eligible for the Hall of Fame and doesn't get it.
I will indulge your questions with simple answers as you asked.Just stepping in to ask two questions..
1) Did anybody ever say Tony freakin Romo would be the best of all time?
If so, maybe you can link it
2) Also, I'm not one that ever put Tony ahead of Troy, but please tell me you aren't saying the all-around teams Tony had were even nearly as good at what Troy had.
Are you saying that?
Honest,drect, yes/no questions
No insults
An honest answer only requires "yes or no" nothing more
No, he doesn't.Funny how so many people think they know what's going to happen with Romo when not even Jerry knows yet. Despite the opinion of many, Romo is not made of glass. He's healthy and feels better than he has in several seasons. If given the opportunity he has a great chance of taking his starting job back from Dak.
No and noI will indulge your questions with simple answers as you asked.
No and no.
And that has zero to do with my point.
The sheer fact you bristled and asked further questions to continue the debate just proves what I was trying to convey.
Not everything with Tony is a battle.
I guess it is when there are countless excuses.
Young fans will defend Tony Romo tooth and nail simply because he is all they have.
They have never experienced a world title. Never experienced even the joy of a damn divisional playoff win.
I really pity some of you.
But not those that pretend it would have been any different if gosh darn it Tony would have had better talent around him.
The QB has accountability.
And as much as Romo has been unfairly dumped on and laughed at, you know, guess what, he was accountable sometimes.
It is not always someone else's fault.
I guess this is a generational thing. It is cool to play the victim.
At the end of the day, I know how I will look back at Tony Romo's career.
It will look back at it simply.
There were opportunities and there were times he made them.
And there were those where he didn't.
I could sit here with countless examples. Oh Austin lost it in the lights. Crayton dropped that perfect pass.
Notice that is always on someone else?
All in all, you will get what he has.
History remembers guys like him. And it is painful.
But it absolutely, under no circumstances, is so simple as to say he never had the talent or it was just him taking the team on his back.
Tony didn't say it was Dakota's job forever. He conceded last season because Jerry told him the time to compete for jobs was back in training camp, not the middle of the season. It's a new season coming and the same policy is in place. Compete for jobs at training camp... Jerry's policy not mine so don't get mad at me.No, he doesn't.
This is insane.
Not sure why anyone really could think this way short of needing more basic common sense.
The Dallas Cowboys are going to give Dak all the 1's reps period.
He is the unquestioned starter. Tony Romo already told you guys this for cripes sake.
Could TR win an open competition? Perhaps. But there will never be one in Dallas. This is DONE.
The Coaches know, the players know, and yes the owner knows.
Jerry is playing you guys for idiots as he dangles this cheese.
I agree, but no telling what jones boys will do.in theory, financially we are spending a normal amount on the QB position. whoever starts or the week to week discussion just needs to be dealt with and refuse to let affect the psych of the team.
both Dak and Romo have to deal with it.
i would not promise Romo anything. he has a great contract, just do his job, back up or start.
if we can trade Romo great, do not cut him just for money.
