Jerry: Not ruled out Romo staying with Cowboys

It would be with Romo making $14M. Trading him for value helps the team and releasing him helps spread $19.6M over 2 seasons which also helps the team.
Jerry went over that yesterday and it wasn't a concern to him. Romo has more value on the team than saving his contract money.

Not according to Jerry.

According to Jerry there was no truth to Herschel Walker being traded. He even told Walker he would never trade him and 2 days later Walker was traded. If Jerry is talking about possible backup's next season it's just more evidence Romo won't be here.

You don't understand what Jerry is doing and I've already explained that.

Actually, I believe that I do and I listen to him. I think that he is being very honest about it and he has the leverage to do what is best for the team.

What do you mean if? You haven't watched the interview?

I don't need to watch it, Romo will not be here next season. Notice how you're the only one who keeps arguing with me? You need to check my posting history.

Some of you are dreaming.

Some of us are scared alright, scared we'll waste more money and a roster spot
Fortunately we'll go in another direction, the Romo train is leaving the station, and hopefully some of you will be on board.
As of you haven't been dealing with it for 25+ gimme a break...

Romo is strating next season, and not because they are gonna hand him the keys...he is gonna win it back by out performing dak

You don't need to watch it? lol

It's not good for the team to pay him $14M to stand on the sidelines as a backup. What's good for the team would be to either trade him for a solid draft pick that could help us land a good player or to release him and spread $19.6M over 2 seasons which would help us sign other players.

I disagree. Having the cap room would be nice. But having an awesome backup might be the difference in making or missing the playoffs or getting bumped out of the playoffs.

We don't save $14 million by cutting Romo. We save the amount of Romos salary $14 million minus what it costs to hire a backup QB PLUS the dead money allocation over one more additional year which means less dead money against the cap in a subsequent year.

You're being absolutely silly. Jerry cares, he's the owner of the team, and he said he's going to do-right by Tony. You can keep on harping and chirping all day long but, you aren't going to change the facts. Don't be a mulehead...grow up.

My opinion is different than yours. That's the way it is. I have my thoughts on you too but I won't post them here. We just view the situation differently.

You don't need to watch it? lol

Didn't need to but I just did and it proved I didn't need to. lol He said Romo is going to have a lot to do with what happens and Romo wants to start next season. Jerry said Romo is going to have as much say on what happens as the rest of the organization.

Disagree all you want Romo will not be back with the Cowboys next season.

That is one thing I just love about the Cowboys.

They are so unlike every other team in the NFL.

Their QB who has never won a single thing gets treated like he has.

Like some all timer, team legend that has a legacy to carry forward.

And no matter where on the Romo spectrum you fall on, this is true.

The closest is Peyton Manning and he at least won and lost a Super Bowl.

Jerry said a lot of stuff. I bet that you didn't watch the entire interview. You seem to hear what you want to hear and not listen.
