Why do you think that you are inside the mind of these people? Use some common sense.

You're new here, I use plenty of common sense which is why I end up being right so often. You might want to check my posting history.

From someone who admittedly has not followed the situation closely, this seems like Jerry's (pretty bad) attempt to regain leverage against Romo after already showing his hand.

What's it going to be then, eh?

From listening to Jerry yesterday, it doesn't look like he would release him. He doesn't have to do anything. Jerry is in a good position. There is upside in keeping him and he could trade him because of the qb shortage. Denver and Houston will be a total waste next season without Romo. They have to be making some offers.
That was Jerry Jones in his bus wearing sweat pants talking. Of course he does not have to do anything. Especially when talking to reporters.

But there are more real conversations otherwise and deadlines will force the issue one way or the other. You do note he has talked up Prescott and has met with Peyton Manning to be "mysterious".

Who cares what he wants to do? Do you think every player on the Cowboys roster wants the same thing that the organization does? Are we to accommodate them too?

You're being absolutely silly. Jerry cares, he's the owner of the team, and he said he's going to do-right by Tony. You can keep on harping and chirping all day long but, you aren't going to change the facts. Don't be a mulehead...grow up.

You seem to think that you know what Tony Romo and his family want to do. It is pretty obvious that Jerry and Tony are going to work together with what is best for the team. The team has leverage on the league. It is easy supply and demand. If they don't get offered enough they just keep him.

We went without a real QB after Aikman for many years and these guys want to give one away. That is so ******* stupid I cannot even fathom the argument being made.

It would be different if Romos contract was paying him$24 million this year. It's a very manageable number.

Our situation now is night and day better than it was when Aikman was released after the 200 season. We had nothing behind him which forced Jerry to reach for Quincy Carter in 2001 draft. We have a terrific young QB now who just had the greatest rookie season any QB has ever had. Trading or releasing Romo isn't going to leave us stuck without a QB.

It's already been stated by the organization that they're going to do what's best for the team AND Tony. What's best for Tony isn't standing around on the sidelines another year as a backup wasting what little time he has left in his career. He's still a starting quality QB and wants to play next season which is the main reason he won't be here. I know what I'm talking, you don't and that will be proven in the coming weeks.

We'll find out in the coming weeks. The day Romo is traded or released we'll continue this because the board will be LOADED with Romo threads. That's all anyone will be talking about.

Trading him would leave them in big trouble if Dak got hurt. It could cost them a championship. Who would you rather have in the playoffs, Moore or Romo?

However, I did say that Romo could be traded. I just said that they wouldn't release him with the current qb shortage, that makes no sense. They either hold on to him or they trade him.

Moore won't be the backup. There's talk about McCown and Fitzpatrick may be out there.

If they can't trade him, he'll be released.

True.
Or maybe after years of broken bones, Romo decides to hang it up in that case.
Itll be a topic until it happens, one way or rhe other, I suppose.

That would not be what is best for the team.

It would be with Romo making $14M. Trading him for value helps the team and releasing him helps spread $19.6M over 2 seasons which also helps the team.
