Um, the fact that I can't provide a doctor's note, most notably due to HIPPA violations for that person(s) that (hypothetically) would have leaked it.

It's no secret he has mental issues. And even if he didn't, who cares about some damn weed as long as he isn't driving while high, practicing, playing, etc. An antiquated rule that is very unpopular, now, amongst red-blooded Americans.

I did not compare RDJ to Gregory... Trouty did as a way to strengthen his point that Uncle Jerry = Hollywood in the story and we need to leave the door open in case Randy makes a comeback like Iron Man.

I agree with you-- its apples to oranges. My only point in the comparison is that RDJ did have to own up to his addiction , take responsibility, and make some changes in order to succeed-- and he has been through rehab and jail (rock bottom).

He compared the two first and then you went and did it yourself.

Again, if he is using it therapeutically for his mental health issue then it is not an addiction. There is no physical addiction to pot.

We know what is wrong with Romo's back, we have heard from his doctor........ we know what is wrong with Jaylon's knee, we have heard from his doctor.

If this is a medical issue ........ lets hear from Gregory's doctor or therapist.

Gregory himself has said he has no mental or emotional problems ........ is he lying?

May, Minnick and Bo Pelini, the Nebraska head coach who now calls Youngstown State home, also begin to field calls from around the NFL. May and Minnick each estimate they spoke to eight clubs.

It's just sad that he can't overcome these demons, or whatever you want to call it. In the same article from the second link, the interviewed NFL guys all think he is the best passrusher, but think he has the highest chance to bust. The dude clearly has/had undeniable pass rushing talent. Came from a solid home as well.

He also has undeniable psycho-social issues. And he can't help himself the way he deems the most apt to help him. It's incredibly unfortunate, John.

Boy I am a combat veteran who came back to the real world with anxiety and panic attacks.

Personally I think Pot should be legal ........ I have smoked it many times myself ......... for back problems and anxiety.

But as a business owner myself ........ I would never pay a fulltime pot smoker Millions of dollars to do a high stress high maintenance job.

And I wish this kid the best and hope Jerry helps him fight his demons ........ but we cannot rely on him to play football in the NFL ......that is a fulltime job.

any substance that controls you is an addiction. Saying weed is the only thing to help with Anxiety is false. You can argue side effects but 100% the effect of weed is suspension in the NFL.

I only usually touch on this in the Beer Thread, but **** it. I lost a marriage, was 51-50'd, and never admitted anything was wrong.

Four people from my company have killed themselves since 06. I've heard my firearms to my head.

So, yeah. I get his dealio. I know what mental issues can do, and to your point, how many don't admit it.

I understand mental issues ........ and I feel for the kid ........ but he obviously cannot handle pro football if he is smoking enough to fail 9 tests in 2 years.

Ad you honestly with you own money if you owned the Cowboys would give the kid a multi million dollar contract with his issues? Even if they legalized pot? Sorry but I could not do it .........

but I am gonna bow out of this now ........ does not feel right arguing with you now that I know we share a common bond.
