And analyze the problem, you probably believe that. owner yes general manager yes. Coach absolutely not.
So how do you explain that Jerry Jones hired the offensive coordinator before hiring Wade Phillips? How do you explain that Jerry hired other assistance for McCarthy before McCarthy was hired? You really need to do some reading. But it sounds like you’re very satisfied with three decades and no NFC championship appearance.

That’s what a GM does. It’s up to the coach to get the job done afterwards.
am I satisfied, that’s an entirely different subject.
I enjoy Watching teams beat up on the Eagles, the Steelers, the 49ers as much as I do winning . So a fan is give me a ring or nothing.

Read a lot of articles that’s the first mistake. Somebody else’s opinion.
It’s not my opinion that we’ve gone almost 3 decades without reaching the NFC championship game. And Bob Sturm is an industry insider that constantly interviews players and coaches and GM’s.

It’s your prerogative to defend Jerry‘s 30 years of no NFC championship game appearances, but don’t question the facts.

Yeah, but you understand why we’re not winning the championship games. Or do you just say oh we’re not winning we suck it’s Jerry’s fault. Do you give him credit for the three rings he got or is that just all on Jimmy?

People just hate Jerry, and they don’t even know why
I do not hate Jerry. I'm not a big fan because I liked it better when he went after the big named players. For better or worse, I knew we had an owner that wanted to win. At this point he takes no risk. So nothing really bad will happen. But at the same time, we're probably never going to have anything great come together.

As far as the answer to the question in the OP, I can only describe it as gibberish. That was not a coherent reply.

I’m not defending him, I’m telling you how it is reality. Three times he gave us the best offensive line in football. Can you help it if the coach doesn’t know what to do with it

You can’t jump in the middle of a conversation with a different tank. Lol. maybe those big names are no longer with this team needs to get over the top. You win in the pits. How many great offensive lineman were there for the taking

This team has been cursed. We lost Jason Whitten Des Bryant Freddy.. And then Elliot hold out I can go on and on all the bad things that I’ve happened and we keep pushing forward to make it better. That’s the NFL. It takes more than talent today you have to be lucky. You just have to be healthy at the right time. It’s no longer about the best team in the beginning.

What if the general manager does not hire the best coach available for the job?
Well, that happens a lot,. I’d like somebody that the league already hasn’t scrutinized, but I don’t know where they’re going to find that person. So I guess the question is the GM step down yes probably. But is that going to fix things usually not. The dilemma of being a cowboy fan.
The only thing I’m trying to say is you just can’t put everything on Jerry’s lap. It’s a lot deeper than that.

I know a great GM when I see it and all that matters to a GM keeping his job is their playoff wins. Are you seriously saying that our GM, who is also the only NFL GM who doesn’t watch game film is anywhere in the same league as the Eagles GM? That is hilarious!

“Increasing success by lowering expectations.” - Jerry Jones
That’s not true at all he’s not lowering expectations. People think Jerry doesn’t wanna win a championship. That has to be one of the most ridiculous things. I read here.

Bad luck is something unforeseen. Nothing you can do about that. But championship teams usually build off of their previous year. The Cowboys don't do this. They have some variations of the same approach every year regardless of record the previous season. They believe in this process and have said as much. Fine. Have at it.

Come on, we made the playoffs three of the last four seasons. That’s not building off of the previous year.

Well, that happens a lot.
True.

I’d like somebody that the league already hasn’t scrutinized, but I don’t know where they’re going to find that person.
No extensive job search can possibly be successful IF it is never conducted.

So I guess the question is the GM step down yes probably.
It is commonplace in business for a manager (general or otherwise) to either be fired for subpar results or voluntarily resign.

But is that going to fix things usually not.
Subpar results cannot be possibly corrected without implementing a different managerial approach.

The dilemma of being a cowboy fan.
True.

The only thing I’m trying to say is you just can’t put everything on Jerry’s lap.
No manager, in any form of business, is totally responsible for all problems within an organization. That said, managers are generally held responsible for the organization not meeting and surpassing its goals--especially goals that managers themselves set.

It’s a lot deeper than that.
True. Some observers do not attribute just how deep the franchise's issues go with Jerry Jones as its general manager.

I was not happy that Jerry fired Tom. So tex wouldn’t have to. Yes I still believe in Mr. cowboy, but it’s getting tougher. Good post.
Do I like Jerry as a GM. No
Has he given us winning teams, yes
But we’re always lacking that one something. Is that just the NFL today or is he really messing things up. I think it’s just the NFL today. It takes a lot of luck, not just skill anymore to win that ring.
Look, you're not totally wrong here.

My whole NFL team success philosophy is based on a 60/20/20 split of responsibility percentages between GM/HC/QB1.

There are those that will always come back to blaming the GM fully because he hired the HC and drafted/acquired the QB.

That's where I'm different. And specifically in the current Cowboys team landscape.

I don't hold Jerry responsible for his former SB winning HC absolutely sucking as a Dallas Cowboys playoff coach.
Nor do I hold him responsible for his runner up MVP QB absolutely sucking as a Dallas Cowboys playoff QB.
If you want to talk the rare HC/QB duos that could win in spite of Jerry, that's a different conversation.
BUT Jerry does bare the majority of blame as my opinion describes.
But like you said, not all of it.
