Thats the problem. You only have Vrabel who fits their mold, the rest is younger coordinators BUT its a reason the team feels so outdated esp on offense, bc we lack new innovation, creativity and younger perspective bc their rather have retreads. I hoped the way things were shaping out with Bill at UNC, if MM contract expired -maybe we would look to change our perspective and trend of how who we hired.
What’s needed is a guy like Harbaugh who can run the whole deal, but Jerry isn’t ready for that, nor does that type appear to be available.

I’m not a MM fan, nor the opposite, but I don’t see who comes in here and fixes it all if the FO doesn’t cooperate.

If they gave the 21-23 teams proper DTs I would speculate that we are no longer talking about NFCCG droughts at the very least.

Amazing how the right players make coaches look great.

Zimm still had a couple of years left on his contract. Parcell agreed to keep him on and help him with 3-4. So force is probably a bit strong but convincer is closer.
Well, yes and no.

Parcells agreed to stay with Zimmers 43, and they miraculously made the playoffs in year one so they stuck with it for the 6-10 year two, then BP put his foot down.

A miracle draft in 2005 helped the transition move quickly. Note that Zimmer was not familiar with the 34 at all but was kept because he was still under contract for another year.

Nothing against Zimmer, but not demanding his way from go was Parcells’ biggest mistake. By the time he got the roster right, his deal was up, they had a QB in place, and Jerry was like ‘thanks, I’ll take it from here’ Mr Credit….off rosters built by others.

But this team has had enough talent in the past to win, the issue was coaching on and lack there off. So as much as Jerry and Stephen are the reason for some of the conflicts, its times where they arent either and coaching is just the issue and players as well but again to me thats on coaching. You are right there are situations where players make coaches look great but there are alot of times coaching makes up for lack of players.

When they were talking about how poor we graded at lack of separation from WRs, and the first thing people pointed at was the WRs, I was pointing at the concepts, scheme and play calling. Bc everyone not going to have great speed esp when you have an outdated offense. I feel like it was a stretch were alot of coaches got more out of their players than us bc of our coaching.

I fully agree that some of the rosters of recent past were quite talented, and the main reason for lack of success was coaching.

But those coaches were chosen (by him) based on what Jerry wants, and that’s for him to be directly involved, and be the face of the franchise and a celebrity. So yeah, when someone is hired based on things other than merit, it’ll end up as problematic.

They will have dated and/or inferior schemes, and can’t properly command the locker room because of the meddling/undermining.

It’s simple….the problem is absolutely Jerry in several ways, and he doesn’t see it that way. He thinks very highly of himself and his offspring.

They’ll both be back.

But extension might only be a year or two.

And that’s assuming they don’t pursue offers elsewhere.

NO debates from me there.... but I dont feel like schemes and concepts is a Jerry meddling. Thats coaching. I agree Jerry meddles but I feel like being outdated is coaching issues, but I get you though, bc Jerry is picking outdated guys lol.

No ....... he needs to actually reassess the front office including himself and his brood ........ nothing is gonna change until that happens.
Definitely that aspect as well but thats not happening. LOL so coaching is the next area that needs to be addressed. Front office is fine outside of Jerry and Stephen. McClay is the glue that has kept things together.
