I used to talk all kinds of smack at work about the cowboys when they were winning SBs, I still talked it for years afteward... we had some great back and forth about the Cowboys... Now, guys just pat me on the back and tell me "it'll be alright", they don't even have the will to argue with me, they now just feel sorry for me as a Cowboys fan... Cowboy haters now have empathy for me, that hurts! That tells you how far a once great franchise has fallen...

Not sure why anyone is surprised.

Say what you want about Jerry.

But he has all of us on a message board talking about the Cowboys.

Call him daddy. Because he owns everyone.

He's not on a short leash, stop with the drama... McCarthy had success in GB because he had a HOF QB, he ain't got nothing close to that here... He's just fortunate that he coaches for Jerry and Jerry's ego is more important than the pressure to win. If you just go in and kiss his @... you can continue in your mediocrity collecting that Jerry donation...
McCarthy is no fool, he knows how to play the game, same as Dak and all the others... just remember it's all about Jerry... not the Cowboys.
And I like MM, I haven't been on the fire MM wagon until this year and I started seeing the issues... he is a terrible clock manager, cost us in the playoffs last year and it cost us in games this year... thankfully the Lions continued on after getting hosed after another terrible MM clock management debacle.
MM is a terrible OC, that experiment failed after the excuse for last years failures were laid off on Moore... "Yes men" never do great things, they exist and survive...
Well he has 1 year of leash left, atleast thats what his contract says. Despite his flaws he got the Cowboys to the playoffs 3 straight years, what's another year with a final chance to redeem himself in the playoffs? We gave Garrett nearly 10 years for 3 playoff stints.

Weird take by Tannebaum. Is the goal to just rack up regular season wins? What good are 36 regular season wins over three seasons if you just then promptly get booted from the playoffs before sniffing a NFCCG?

Jason Garrett once won 32 games over 3 seasons. It didn't mean much.

No, I think you have that date wrong, you'll probably need to fast forward until 2030 to hear those words...
Don't give the fan base hopes that things may change in 2025... that's just mean.
My bad. I know Jurrah's penchant for avoiding discomfort, letting coaches contracts expire, not termination. I figured just one contract.
Please convey my sincerest apologies to the fan base.

There are only 3 outcomes I would find acceptable this offseason
1. You run it back without extending Dak, knowing it’s his last shot at getting to a SB, meaning he must win an NFCCG to sniff another contract (which won’t happen)
2. You resign Dak without a no trade clause and then trade him to wherever Bill B goes (ATL?), who will be desperate to win immediately and doesn’t want to develop a QB. This would be a jerk move, but still realistic.
3. You drop Dak and take the cap hit or get him to waive the NTC and then do #2, and roll with Lance to see what you have. It’s win win. If he sucks, you get a high draft pick, if he’s ok, you have your long term backup, if he’s good/great you have a starter

The deal is they didn't want to change the offense. Dak had his best year and they want McCarthy to continue to work with and develop Trey Lance.

Odd that this would have to be announced. If Mc Cathy is not fired then he is the coach. Jerry is announcing that he is doing nothing. I’m doing nothing right now but I’m not holding a press conference for it.

Jerry has successfully constructed his own self-contained world by which he holds all the levers of control /power and its scary. He has sycophants like MM, media, radio, staffers, players. You name it, they are beholden to him. He can go thumbs up, thumbs down and either promote u or end you. Just ask Bryan Broaddus a couple years back what happens when you say something the boss don't like. So the fact he retained MM isnt a shock. It was expected because He has the best of both world, he won 12 games, and he will do what Jerry wants him to do. This is why we cant win. Its a lazy way to build the inner workings of a franchise. It dooms the team to failure. Not 1 person will hold Jerry accountable in the local media. MM is getting the soft kid glove treatment tonight. Get ready for the same or worse result next few years. I think I will root and support Dan Campbell and the Lions. This hurts bad but I need to forget Dallas. They are in purgatory. I am a fan since 1973.

I bashed Garrett for years, and you know it. Alzheimers kicking in? Go get help.
Then it's surprising you are OK with McCarthy coming back who has literally not taken the team any further than Garrett did in the postseason.

“There is a great possibility of this team achieving our goal with me ummm i mean with him being my freaking puppet and doing what I say and being able to change plays when I umm I mean when he decides to do what I freaking tell him what to do.” Next year I will ummm I mean he will get us a running game to take pressure off our QB that can’t take the team on his back because he is NOT brady.. It took me ummm I mean MM a few years to realize Dak needs a running game along with WR and a O-Line to do it. And I ummm I mean he believes that we need to stop the run on Defense so I ummm I mean he is going to draft some more undersized and talented DT to do it because I ummm I mean he believes that smaller guys that can move faster can do the same job. I … ummm I think after years of trying the same freaking thing that this time I ummm I mean MM realizes that…. What the hell ever. Get it. Get a damn DC that will get what’s needed. Tell him we need a talented DT that’s 310 or above. I want this kid to train to get down to 310.. And then again later in the draft if another DT falls and could have something then get him to. I am sick of this..

Hope Jerry gets it right this time. He's not looking too good. Might be his last season.

What a crock of ****.

How exactly is Jerry or anyone accountable to the embarrassment? They don't change anything or invest in the team. They dont trade up in the draft. They dont sign free agents. I know it's just corporate speak, but that's just complete BS

If there is any BLOOD to be had it's coming at this point from Prescott.
Think about it there is a good chance Big Mike told him at some point that he cannot win with #4 no matter how much mastery he uses with the playbook.
This quote from Jerry might be the telling tale concerning our near future.....

Quote)
“We will start our process of review and decision-making regarding everything that impacts our team and roster and, while we’re not going to address specific players and extensions or free agents at this point, it deserves our deepest review and consideration, and it will get it.”

Unquote)

P.S. Mike would be an excellent choice to bring on slowly a guy like Trey Lance.
