You named a few good QBs and a few not good QBs that have been on Super Bowl winning teams.

What major injuries did all those QBs suffer before year 7? How many of them took a drastic leap in skill level in year 7 after that major injury?

I say W/L is a team stat constantly. You know this.

If they don't fit the criteria of drastically getting better in their 7th year after a major injury while continuing to rack up minor injuries and missing time then just say so instead of dragging it out trying to change the narrative.

You bringing up QBs that have been on Super Bowl winning teams later in their careers is not what I was talking about. I'm talking about Dak's ability to become better as a QB. That has nothing to do with team success.

You are basing a front office success strategy on overpaying for free agents yearly.

Since when has the eagles ever demonstrated success as a front office? They continually waste their draft picks, and overpay for free agents every year.

I understand our grievances on our own front office, but to use Philadelphia and their total 1 SB victory as the gold standard.....

I am basing success on the reality that you stated a 20 year window. When one looks at that window, the Eagles have been FAR MORE SUCCESSFUL than we have over that 20 year window.

No one set them as the gold standard. But they certainly have been better run than we have over the last two decades. Hence why calling them out for a failed "formula" is pretty chuckleworthy.

About five years ago....I thought to myself....which would happen first? They win another SB or every single player on the team will have been born after the last one.

I count 16 current Cowboys that were born before that date. I guess 17 when Peters is added.

Despite Cherry picking years (last 20). Dallas is STILL superior and more relevant than Philly in the vast majority of ways.

That is literally such a narrow focus of QBs that I do not know how many traditionally borderline top 10 QBs who have suffered major injuries (though I wonder how major it is) only to come back and become top 5 but even the first part severely limits the search but again the second part seems moot. If you have a borderline top 10 QB that is enough. There is no point in spending 3+ first round picks trying to hopefully get lucky and land a better one (about what it would take if you are lucky) and basically give up on other positions in the process.

They won 1 SB, they went to 5 NFC Champ games. They made the playoffs 13 out of 20 years. They have 4 times the playoff wins we have over that stretch.

I'd trade for that level of success over the period YOU STATED easily over what we have done over the same 20 years. Yes, the Eagles have been way better run over the last 20 years than we have.

Frankly, I am envious of a lot of FOs over ours.

I am not talking box score and stats. I am saying that the players have Dak ranked borderline top 10, the coaches have Dak borderline top 10, the executives have Dak borderline top 10, and the talking heads have Dak borderline top 10. So either every group of NFL experts are somehow all incapable of seeing top of the Cowboys or, I like Occam's Razor here, they have seen Dak play and consider him borderline top 10 considering that especially for coaches, they have all seen a LOT of tape on Dak and understand it better than either of us.

You are right that I have seen every game of Dak but I also have seen the other QBs and when they do not have talent, and sometimes even when they do, they are not going to play well as even Mahomes and Rodgers have bad games. If we are expecting a borderline top 10 to be good every game against every opponent then I would try to find even a top 3 QB who can do that. I watched Brady that last year in New England, I watched Brees for several years with the Saints, and, I watched Stafford, though not often, for years in Detroit not be successful. The teams that win in the NFL not only have one of the top 13-15 guys in the NFL at QB but also surround them with elite talent that stands out from the others.
