We seem to be at the level some of us thought we would be, but some of us are more realistic than those trying to keep fans excited about what they are selling. We believe a team that was 7-9-1 with one of the worst defenses of all time should prove it before we believe it is any better.

It's a double-edged sword. Play the starters in the pre-season and a major contributor gets hurt, like Romo did, our fans say he shouldn't have been playing in the pre-season.

Don't play the main starters at all in the preseason and we start off sloppy, our fans say they should be playing in the pre-season.

I understand both sides. Glad I don't have to make those decisions.

I'm on the play them side. Injuries happen. We lost Malik Davis for the season in a walkthrough practice. I'd rather we warm up so maybe we can avoid the sloppy start since the last two seasons have been the opposite of that.
