put any back with any talent on those 90s teams and you have multiple super bowls. Demarco murray, hershel walker, tony pollard etc. That line was best all time

Lincoln Coleman, Derrick Lassic? This is comically ridiculous that Emmitt Smith played no part. Just along for the ride. None of those guys could do what Emmitt did. Not a single one including Elliott.

now no need to get silly those guys cant do what emmitt did but the others most definately could. Murray put up the best season in cowboys history. Hershel could have too. It would be mind boggling to see what a prime hershel would have done with the 90s line. That isnt to say that emmitt didnt have a role in the success but that was the best line ever assembled. to discount that when discusssing the running game of the 90s is not being genuine

I'll still die on the hill that Murray was the better overall RB if it wasn't for his injuries.
Actually was a threat in the passing game and owns the all time rushing and total yardage in Cowboys history.

Zeke was great here early on here then became a good back. Was our engine for the offense. But to say he's considered for the ROH while he's still playing seems like Jerry not knowing when to stop talking.

People keep saying anyone could win with those teams except the Cowboys started 0-2 without Emmitt in 1993. We don't win the SB if he doesn't come back.

The superstar treatment and complete overvalue from the front office. It's been pretty nauseating for years now. They'll trip over themselves every chance they get to blow smoke about how great he is and how important he was to a franchise that never won anything. Somehow he played a vital role in that.
There’s entirely too much importance placed on winning championships this era by fans when that hasn’t been the utmost priority of our ownership.

Elliott payed a Vital role in the popularity and relevance of our iconic brand this era .

And they did win something . It just wasn’t a championship .

Somewhere along the way we have fans that don’t recognize individual accomplishments like rushing titles or team success like playoff appearances and division titles , etc unless a championship appearance or title is attached .

And narcissistic. Imo, this is a direct middle finger to Jimmy. Unfortunately, this is just inflaming the curse that this team's been under since Jimmy left.
It’s a reminder what we have become under Jethro Jone$ since Jimmy left. It still amazes me more fans don’t see it or fail to call it out.

In his eyes and priorities this era Elliott was a Vital piece to his success this era remaining popular, relevant and generating revenue.

Some fans are hung up on winning championships while our owners ultimate priorities revolve around him staying in power hyping his label keeping his team on the forefront.

That's fine if you want to say he was a good back, lead the league a few years, did a nice job for this team.. etc. etc. Nope that's not what Jerry's doing at all. This iconic brand would somehow manage without Elliott ever being here. He don't talk about any player the way he blows smoke about this one. It's actually weird. Good isn't good enough. He's still going to carry on about his "greatness". Give me a break! He was a very good player early on .. it's the fact that he always tries to make it more than that. Now talking ROH??? That's ridiculous.

Exactly, and it's truly sad. Absolutely tragic how two men's egos wrecked what was a beautiful team. They both need to apologise to each other, and Jerry needs to put Jimmy in the ROH. It'd be the right thing to do.

Zeke's strongest selling point for the ROH is it wouldn't threaten Jerry's ego.

Turns 81 next month. Tick tock.

Joe Looney might try and steal the ROH too...

I'm not bashing him over this particular thing because it is Jerry's idea. I am just pointing out that Zeke did not do anything RoH worthy in his time with Dallas.
Our opinions aren’t relevant. Only Jethro’s.

We have to view this from his perspective. Surely everyone can see why he thinks Elliott was worthy.

ROH has zero credibility without Jimmy Johnson in it.

And it only makes Jerry look smaller and smaller. I think he's been a great owner in terms of the revenue that he's generated, but he's a small man for the fact that he can't just get over himself and do the right thing. He told Jimmy he would (possibly to steal the spotlight), so he needs to man up and do it.

I beg to disagree. It was actually one man’s responsibility for wrecking this franchise. The other just brought it to the forefront.

Jethro’s ego and self indulgence turned out to be much greater . And it still is and why he hasn’t budged yet.

In his mind it isn’t ridiculous. And that’s all matters. Fans forget how marketable Dak and Zeke had been been for this label not to mention the hype for these years.

It doesn’t matter if this brand would have flourished without him. It did flourish with him. And that’s our priority under Jethro.

Still amazing how many fans are in denial what we have become. They are still living in the past. We are only the Cowboys in name.

And the ROH really has no meaning anymore.

Perhaps, and I do think Jerry should approach him. Regardless, the right thing needs to be done. An apology needs to be made by Jerry, and Jimmy needs to be in the ROH. If for no other reason than to do what is right.

It is exactly that.

Jerry Jones is also likely mimicking Robert Kraft, who arranged a 1-minute tribute video to Tom Brady when the Buccaneers played in Foxboro after he signed with Tampa Bay:

Narcissists like upstaging their peers. Not sure if Ezekiel Elliott's return to Dallas has the same level of significance as Brady's return to New England but it would be par the course with Jones.

Exactly, and, what a coincidence to say that the same week that Jerry and his friend Robert are going to be sharing the same stadium as their teams battle each other? It's an absolute disgrace the middle finger that Jerry just did. I didn't think about the aspect of it being a possible middle finger to Zeke, but it is a finger to Jimmy. Especially with this game being on FOX.
