Perkins played 107 games for the Cowboys in an era where running the ball was more important than the pass. Zeke played 106 games for the Cowboys. So the stats are relevant.
Good point. Also in response to the post @RS12 you quoted some of those seasons with Perkins the Cowboys only had 12 game seasons.

If Elliott was able to play 3 or 4 more years he might could reach 12,000 yards.

BTW… every RB in NFL history with 12,000 yards is in HOF. Except Gore who will soon be.

Went to a season ticket holders thing one time, but didn’t get there until an hour before it ended.
The cheerleaders had left. As there were photo ops with them. The SB trophies never arrived so no fan got a photo with them.
there was hardly anyone there. We were talking to a security guard as he came up to and and said sorry, every thing was cleared out already.

so he gave us a behind the scenes tour of things not really allowed. At least not at that time. So he said. He took us to that booth, and some other areas. Explained a lot of behind the scenes stuff. This was around 2012.

That must've been quite an experience.

Jones hates the people most responsible for making him super-wealthy: Cowboy fans.
I wouldn't say he hates us. He takes tremendous effort to string us along. And I’d say he’s done a pretty darn good job of hyping hope and promoting our iconic brand remaining #1 in revenue despite the lack of success.

Which would make him very appreciative while he laughs all the way to the bank for allowing him to remain the face of his franchise playing out his dream of being a celebrity football guy.

I’d argue most of those teams weren’t championship caliber overall.

Just like last 2 years. We weren’t good enough to get past divisional round. SF was the better team.

And I’d argue GB was prob the better team both losses in 2014 and 2016 definitely had better QB and HC. 2018 Rams had better team.

2007 is perhaps only divisional round where I’d argue we had better team . But then NY proved they were playing better that time of year by going on to beat the Patriots which I don’t believe we would have.

But this is a core issue with our fanbase . Some actually believe we have had championship caliber teams. When we really haven’t. This has helped spur support for our ownership which Jethro was played to the hilt.

I still don’t believe this current team is championship caliber. It’s a good team but not as good as a few other teams which will probably stop them again.

I'm talking about seasons like 2007, 2014, and maybe last year. Oh, and there's this season with the Diggs injury. Maybe we can still do it, but that was a massive blow to this team.

I mentioned all of the seasons including those we made it to Divisional round this era.

I know you’re a great fan and appreciate speaking out against our owner . Very well meaning but sounds like you’ve also fallen victim to the hype and hope he’s been selling.

If you're saying any RB can come in and win multiple championships then you're also saying Emmitt had nothing to do with it. To discount what he meant to that team isn't genuine at all.
No your saying that I am saying any running back with talent could have succeeded behind that line. and no Im not saying emmitt was talentless. You dont become the the NFL leading rusher without talent and having alot to do with it. that was the best line ever you put hershel behind it similiar results, put Murray behind it similar results tony dorsett similar results.

SBs are a team effort and he played a role in it without a doubt but the big uglies kept troys jersey clean and opened up gargantuan holes for emmitt.

And some fans keep falling for it saying Jerry has more SB's then Tom or Jimmy. Landry and Johnson built teams and Jerry has destroyed a once great franchise. I'll always love the Cowboys for what they were. They haven't been that in nearly 30 years.
I think some of those fans just feel they need to defend everything Cowboys against any criticism.

But you’ve hit on a great point which I also fall victim to which is we are so attached to what we once were we often look the other way for what we’ve become.

I waved my white flag years ago that fans would force their will on Jethro and Jone$ clan to bring about change. But he’s done masterful job stringing everyone along. Some even believe he’s changed or changing.

Speaking of Herschel. Quite an achievement with rushing title in 1988 with 3-13 Cowboys team.

That might place him on a pedestal of his own.

met him in person here in dallas a couple years ago. He was a beast when he played at georgia and the USFL and of course with us. That trade is what got us 3 rings and you may never see anything like that again. Not sure the league will allow it. he was keynote speaker and he talked some of his football days. He not the best speaker youll run across but it was a good day. Hes gonna have an uphill battle in politics as well.

What did Zeke do that I missed that he gets this much praise? In 2016 he had one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen a RB have but then fell off.

I love the old "Emmitt was good but had the best OL in football" The OL was good but they weren't dominant until Emmitt got there and other than Allen (who came much later) none are in the HOF.

Emmitt was the best big game back I ever saw, he wasn't flashy, he got the tough yards and was definitely a complete football player.

Sorry but Zeke even being considered for the ROH is a joke, may as well consider Murray and Julius Jone too while he's at it.

My God. If Zeke gets into the ROH before Jimmy (or at all). I think I would be done with this franchise.
If this happens Aikman, Irvin and Emmitt should ask to be removed

Players who havent won a SB should not be in with the exception of Ware and Witten

He’ll probably put zeke in on the same day a certain unnamed extension happens.and he formally announces JJ aint making it.

Right after an early exit loss to the 49ers in nfc championship just to further anger fans

Skelator going out with a bang :lmao:

This is totally absurd . The first two Cowboys inducted in Perkins and Meredith didn’t win a SB.

Amazing how some fans only attach greatness with winning a championship. The HOF doesn’t and neither should our ROH.

And for your info Ware is already in HOF , won a SB and Witten is soon to be in HOF when eligible .

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan compared it to Emmitt Smith coming back to face the Cowboys while with the Cardinals when talking about Ezekiel Elliott playing Sunday at AT&T Stadium. Jones said he was holding out hope before Elliott signed with the Patriots that he'd return to the Cowboys. Jones also said Elliott is someone that will be considered for the Ring of Honor. "Zeke had a lift to it for the whole franchise."

This is just his ego talking…since he probably hand-picked Zeke.
