Geez what do you want - I already said he's been doing a better since he cut TO. Do I have to go all the way to he's become the best GM in the league in one year to make you happy?

I don't want anything. I already said I don't care what you think.

I'm happy with the job Jerry has been doing as GM lately. I enjoy being a Cowboys fan. Maybe I'm selfish, but thats all I care about. Why would I care how you or Bach or anyone else viewed Jerry? If nothing else, you guys entertain me. :)

Yeah that's closer, forgot about that. Me culpa

That said Bill has always taken chances on players (Bryan Cox) because he holds them accountable.

Jerry shoehorns Pacman right back into the starting lineup the day he comes off his suspension for fighting again.

Has a Parcells team ever come apart like we did in 2008?

Like in 2003 when we went 10-6 followed in 2004 by going 6-10

This has to be the most popular thread ever.
Quincy being waived or Owens signed or waived are probably still ahead of it for fast and heated traffic.

Funny Wade caught hell because Dallas could not win in Dec yet BP never had a winning season in Dec for us either. I like and respect BP but I don't think the sun rises and falls with BP as his groupies seem to think, he made mistakes as well and not every move he made panned out I'm sure Carpenter pick had to be Jerry Jones in their eyes.

Is that all you see?

That 2004 team was pretty bad.

Our 2008 team suffered the loss of Romo for 4 weeks, as well as the loss of McBriar (as trivial as that sounds), and several other injuries. Even still, the wheels didn't completely fall off until the final week of the season.

I see many of the same reasons.

The biggest difference is one had Bill's scowl on the sideline and one had Wade's confused look.

Haha....

That's the biggest difference?

I'd think QB would get a pretty high ranking on the biggest difference between those teams but whatever floats your boat.

And I guess I forgot about all the back stabbing, rumor floating and general sense of disarray back in the BP days. 2008 was a ****ing disaster from top to bottom. I don't see many similarities between 2008 and the time period you are referring to with Parcells.

It goes on well before Parcells too.

See putting words in people's mouths doesn't help anything. The only way Carpenter could have been more of a Parcell's pick is if he was an Italian from Jersey. No questions he owns that, and many other mistakes. I've said before it was probably a good thing he moved on when he did, and that he didn't have it in him as a coach anymore and it showed.

But conversely the Jerry-ites want to pretend that Jerry didn't punt a twice winning SB coach out of pure ego, and that he didn't take an NFL dynasty team and over the course of a decade proceed to grind them down into the Detroit Lions. A run that would have gotten *any other GM in the league fired twice over*. But Jerry can't fire the GM.

That doesn't go away because we won a wild card game last year.

Let me repeat again. Jerry seems to be on the right track now post-Bill, albeit with big hiccups in 2008 and with the Roy trade. But its going to take a lot more to make up for a decade of futility than what he has done to date before some are ready to sing his praises.

I would say the 2006 collapse that started with the New Orleans game was just as bad or worse. I've never seen a Cowboys defense play that poorly -- and it's the entire reason we brought in Wade Phillips ("Mr. Fix-It").
