Jim Zorn - New Commander HC *Merged*

You might be trying to be funny, but there is more truth to this than you would imagine.

Snyder is so consumed and obsessed with one-upping Jerry Jones that he will copy his every move.

Jones hired Coach Parcells. Snyder hires Coach Gibbs.

Jones flirts with hiring Garrett. Snyder hires Zorn and probably believes he is clever for doing so.

What a sad, sad little man.
This is ridiculous. First of all Snyder wanted to hire Gibbs since the moment he bought the team. Second, what exactly are the similarities between Garrett and Zorn? Not age, not experience, not the job they got, the only similarity is that they were both QB coaches before being hired. You're reaching way too hard.

No...you are. ;)

I think I heard or read something about Jerry talking to Snyder on the phone and suggesting Zorn. That Jerry...you gotta keep an eye out for him!

No, I believe the only one reaching right now is Daniel Snyder.

So will Zorn get to pick his OC or does Snyder have to make another search for that?

absolutley hilarious BG:lmao2: , and congrats on the new hire. ive always liked the upcoming young coaches rather than the old re-treads. you never know how it might turn out.

That could be. But the thing about head coaches is that it is such a different job than assistant coaches. It's much more managerial whereas football IQ is more important for coordinators who call the plays and design the schemes. That's why there are lots of good coordinators who don't make good head coaches, simply because the skill set needed is different.

I have no problem realizing that sometimes long shots make it big.

If you are honest though, you will admit if Dallas was doing exactly the things the Skins are doing you would be laughing hard.

The proof will be in the pudding. It should be fun to see where this goes at a minimum.

Zorn was a pret5ty fair journeyman QB in this league for a long time and I have developed some respect for him. Not sure if he's ready to be a head coach yet but I guess we'll find about about him.

This reminds me of the Cowboys organization circa 1997 but without all the smashing success that preceded it.

Yeah it's a crapshoot.

another thing we could throw in is the drawn-out process, interviewing a host of guys during that time-frame, that's what Jerry did last year, made news, and all of a sudden, Snyder too goes out on a long journey for a head coach, including interviewing Greg WIlliams 3 times and Fassell 3 times

he's a freakin' copy-midget

I'm not going to lie: If Jerry pulled this stunt, I'd be pretty pissed.

But then again, there is also a reason I am sitting here and typing up a post instead of conducting interviews or owning a team, too....

could be another Joe Gibbs. Some described Zorn as an up and coming young HC. When another poster posted out that Zorn was 54, the other poster still insisted Zorn was an up and comer. One of them already raised the possibility Zorn could win his first SB with the Skins. FYI: Skins fans are putting a lot of credence in the fact that both times after the Giants won the SB the Skins then went on to win the SB the next year. Of course nothing is said about the fact that last time the Giants won in 90, the Skins did go on to win in 91 but we all know who then went on to win the SB in 92, 93 and 95. It was us of course -- the Beast of the East. Ha.
