Joe Haden Cut

They are already talking about him in Philly.

Seems like something they'll do.

If the Eagles are interested, I might be a little timid. How many of these free agency additions turn out? Seems like they're more about the flash than the substance.

Oh I get it but still they are 50+ million under the cap and how many players do they have that can sell a jersey to their fan base? How many exciting players do they have?

I would assume Haden to be a fan favorite and they don't need the cap space...that's why the timing is suspicious. Was he being outperformed by younger players? That seems likely.

I can't say for sure one way or another on performance. But this looks like strictly a cost move. And it makes sense if you know you're not winning.

Especially compared to a Jets team that's likely the worst in the league paying Josh McCown $7 million this season. That makes no sense to me at all.

He definitely fits the man coverage style that Jim Schwartz likes to run.

If Dallas isn't willing to meet the asking price, I could definitely see Haden ending up in Philadelphia.

Can't let your fan base know you're tanking if you wanna sell tickets.

Put me on the record of saying that I want Dallas to do all of their homework. There are some red flags though that he could be a bust.

These end of TC releases are alwaus shocking with more to come. If I was the Cowboys I'll take a dabble at him. I bet he is still better than Carroll.

I dont think they would even be considering him had all our rooks played this pre-season.

I tend to agree, but that hasn't been the case. And the team continues to be hit by injuries there with Thomas and now Leon McFadden getting hurt (whether either one was making the team). With Lewis missing all of camp and still not hitting the field, things may have changed.

Fans aren't stupid, even the diehards know that team isn't winning for a while. Look at Buffalo. They're cleaning house too and looking big picture.

Completely reasonable. I hope so too. Give him an extensive look before offering him a contract.

I think everyone is overlooking what the cost will be. Aging CB that got cut and has had reoccurring injury problems. He's looking at a 1 year deal to prove he can still play at a high level. And with the cap room we have I don't see why not take a shot.

Exactly! And he probably wants to finally play for a team like us with a shot

I think they'll likely hit on Jeffrey as long as he can stay healthy. Jenkins was a free agent at FS and he's pretty good. Same with McLeod their other safety. Brooks, one of their OGs, is very good and he was a free agent too.

So we should be worried about Joe Haden, who at least at one time was a pretty darn good NFL CB, but we should ignore the red flags around Carroll, who has pretty much been a crappy to average CB his entire career.

This is not directed specifically at you, just a general statement.

Haden isn't the cb he use to be but I also think tgst a change of scenery to a contender could up how game and give him something to play for.

He's gonna want to ring chase I would assume. He's still getting paid by Cleveland, money won't be an issue

That should narrow the teams. Now, does that descrption include Dallas is the question.

Cowboys should've offered a 7th before he was cut

And pay him 11 million this year? That is what you would have had to pay him if you traded for him, and that is the reason why no one traded for him. I am all for signing him but not at 11 million.

It sure sounds to me like he's damaged goods and we have more than enough of those already.

If the Cowboys are ok spending the max that they're comfortable with they could likely do better.
