Either one, actually. Especially for the first round pick.

It would certainly be far less likely that Dallas would view QB as a 1st round option, but never say never. .. unless both ARE SIGNED, due to reps.

Bring em' both please, because that opens up the Draft for WR, RB, DB and a star Defender at 4.

I think your point is very good. However, I'm not sure a player like RG3 would see this job as a backup. The league likely all thinks Romo will not last much longer and I tend to agree. Also, RG3 seems very interested in building his brand and profile and I can't think of a better back for him to stand on than Jerry's who will prob. give him the marketing dept. to use at his will. All of this stinks but holding my nose I would likely choose Bob Griffin over Johnny Foosball and Colin Kap.

Another good point on him building his brand...what better, more high profile place could he go to? I'd prefer a QB that's not "brand" conscious. Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

After Hardy, it we sign Manziel, i'll be finding a new team to root for until he's gone. This kid is an addict and Jerry can't be serious.

If RGknee and Billy Manziel both land in Dallas, we can all stop talking QB in the 2016 Draft.

Actually it should cement the fact that we need to use the first pick on a QB.

The state of available QBs should be apparent to us by now. It stinks.

They would be nothing a but a one year, break in the case of emergency band-aid until a Goff was more prepared in 2017.

I haven't seen/paid much attention to him since his first year and the read option - what does he seem to struggle with? Is it reads or just general accuracy. Or does he still not trust the knee?

I'm no QB maestro by far but even seeing our backups this year you could at least generally see the issues with them.

Griffin struggles with pre-snap adjustments and the route progressions. Those are the first things a coach needs to help him improve upon, before anything else. You can't worry about what the secondary is doing when you aren't giving yourself time to throw the ball or don't know where your WRs are. Griffin was getting killed in the pocket but Kirk would go untouched, not because the Skins OL didn't like him, but because Griffin failed to master adjusting the OL and RBs blocking to give him enough time to throw the ball. That preseason game against Detroit was brutal, because Griffin wasn't using the resources at his disposal to protect himself. In one play in particular, Griffin failed to shift the OL left which would've allowed the LT to pick up the left side blitzer. The result was Robert getting clotheslined before he finished his three step drop. Now when he did have time to throw, he hadn't fully mastered where he's supposed to look first, who his second and third reads are, etc,.. It's not that he doesn't understand the defense he's seeing, he doesn't know how to navigate the route tree. That was his biggest issue in 2014, which really pissed Gruden off. There would be a WR running wide open for a TD, but Robert would be staring too long at his first read. Or he wouldn't be patient enough to look off the first read, and then look back, in order to allow that WR to finish his route without drawing safety help. Instead he'd move on from the WR too early and end up checking down when that WR won his battle.

These are really fundamental QB skills that he needs to learn because he didn't need to learn it at Baylor. But he actually has the work ethic to get it done, he just needs to check his ego at the door of the team facility and get to work. He needs to shift all the time he spends in the weight room to the film room. His stubbornness is his biggest weakness, and the real reason why two HCs have given up on him. He didn't take constructive criticism well. He may have been humbled being benched and inactive all season, and having to watch Kirk develop into a good QB right in front of him. Maybe he'll listen to his coaches now. Regardless, I wish him well and I hope he goes somewhere that will allow him to be a backup and develop his game. If he is signed somewhere to be a starter in 2016 it's not going to end well for him.

RGIII was so epically bad that he was deactivated for an entire year. If someone can give me another time when a team has done this, it might not seem like the most epic failure in pro football history like it looks to me now.

I've continued to ask this question of RGIII supporters but have heard only crickets chirping in response.

And this is for a player the team used three 1st round picks and a second rounder to acquire.

He was not deactivated because of how bad he played, he was deactivated once they knew Kirk was better and they didn't want risk him getting injured. If he got severely injured this season and couldn't pass a physical in the Spring, they'd owe him 16 million.

And if he was good enough there never would have been any question about it.

If there was any chance that he could be good, and worth that investment, there's no chance he would have been deactivated.

Arguably the biggest draft bust of all time. Congratulations.

In a vacuum, it's not a bad idea, but he needs a lot of work on mechanics, footwork and reading a defense, and would take away reps from a rookie, so I am against it.

And which rookie would you be referring too, Showers, who will never be a quarterback or the half dozen that will be signed this off season and then cut days or weeks later for someone else, none of which would have the ability or talent of RG3

No to Manziel.
No to RGIII.
Bargain-based K-Mart shopping for a QB is a waste.
Jerry needs to have flashbacks to the 1989 Draft ~ draft a QB with the pedigree, intelligence, mental preparation, arm talent, respect of the teammates, and leadership qualities.
At the 4th selection or even in a trade up if necessary, go with Goff.

Goff or Lynch.............I seriously don't know how you pass on either if plan B is "RG3 and out" or "Billy Manzel"
