Dez still gets ultimate respect they put a safety over the top of him in the redzone to effectively eliminate the fade pass in the end zone he was so good at

This is the most vocal the fans and media have been in a very long time about the state of the team and play calling. Everyone is fed up. He is a business man and has to fill those seats, so no choice but to appease the public.
But this Jerry tirade doesn't appear to be about playcalling!

I think that is what Jerry is saying in boozy Jerry-speak. He is telling Dak to "use the force". The laws of physics say you don't throw into double coverage but Dez Bryant is a freak of nature, so you do throw to him in double coverage.

Dez wins most contested ball battles, but so did Michael Irvin and I recall Troy telling Michael he wasn't going to throw the ball to him if he was double covered... and Dak isn't nearly as accurate as Troy was (yet).

I'm gonna sound like a Scoobey Doo villian here, but we would have more playoff wins if it weren't for those meddling Joneses.

Jones understands getting Bryant the ball is not an option if the Cowboys want to win on Sunday.

"I think it's self-evident. He does need to get involved early. He seemingly has a little habit if he's not involved early it coincides at least with what happens at the end of the second half. All of that is pretty apparent. I know for a fact our staff, and certainly in that case Dez, would be aware of putting that kind of attention to him."

So adamant is Jones to see Bryant get the ball, he's willing to see rookie Dak Prescott fire into double coverage if necessary.

"I think you use his [Bryant's] physicality. You use his ability to just win and you have to get the ball to him when he's double covered."

Prescott was forthright this week in saying 'if Dez is the read, Dez is the read'. The translation is he won't force the issue and will take what the defense is giving him.

Jones and Prescott have different takes on what needs to happen with Bryant target-wise, and the irony is neither is incorrect.

Perfect example of how much our leader knows about the dynamics of football. Good recipe for a 3 pix day for Dak.
3 Guinnesses will be required tonight.

This offense isn't centered around one person, just like T.O said.. You'd have to fire the head coach..

Maybe Jerry should be putting pressure on coaching staff to get Dez open instead of forcing Dak to throw into double coverage.

There is a right way and a wrong way to target Dez.

Is not an option or is not optional? Because those don't mean the same thing....

JG's response " This is football, we play football, dez plays football, 32 teams play football.
Dak throws the football,Dez catches the football, it is all a process with the football.
We are in a football league,Sunday we will play football, 31 other teams will play football too.

Dez needs to actually start cashing in on such plays by holding onto the football.

While Jerry said this using the english language, the actual meaning is completely indecipherable.

Very good post but probably somewhat inaccurate. I feel pretty confident that there were some lip smacks in there somewhere! Moreover, nowhere in that quote does Jerry say "Let me be real clear". If Jerry spoke without these two "tells" it makes me wonder if the speaker was an imposter, or if Jerry somehow became possessed and it was some sort of evil spirit speaking using Jerry as a human puppet.

It must be a coaching issue. I am sure the Cowboys coaches didn't tell Dez to hold on to the football.

Is there any other GM who treats his HC this way? Is there any other coach that would put up with this garbage. I have even less respect for JG now.

Sadly most defences know its all Dez at WR as no one has really stepped up and claimed that #2 slow and offered a dual threat. Not that the HC would actually deploy such a tactic beyond 9 yards.

Here is the PROBLEM with using Dez to get other people open. Williams is an average #2 WR. WItten and Beasley are not explosive. If you want to keep things simple for the QB by using Dez to know where the Safety is going to be. The Cowboys should have invested in a REAL #2 WR..or found a more explosive TE/Slot WR to make teams pay. I have been saying this for years. Does not mean Witten is not a good player...but teams will let him catch all the stuff he wants all day....because he is not hurting them. And Beasley is a small target who is neither fast or strong....and really not elusive. Not only has this team wasted Romo prime....they are on the verge of wasting Dez prime. Terrance Williams should be FEASTING with the single coverage he has seen his ENTIRE career...the fact that he has not should have sent a message to the FO years ago to get somebody else. Williams should have the EASIEST job in football. A legit #2 WR should have been the easiest pitch and catch scenario for Romo. This FO just exasperates me!

When the Jones family tell us the Garrett is the last guy to leave the building everyday. It leaves me scratching my head. Nothing about this offense has changed....so WHAT is he DOING? Williams is no better. Dez does not get moved around. We run on first and 2nd...throw on third. We don't generate turnovers. We don't get to the QB. We lead the league in drug suspensions. We blow the 2nd round pick every year. We finish .500. We don't win at home. This team is a sitcom in syndication. Every week is a re-run. So why is he working late?
