Release a squeeky clean Murray, the NFL's leading rusher, and sign a extremely volatile wide receiver and a child abusing running back on the wrong side of 30?

This is the kind of idiocy that would once again set this team back another decade.

I'd be wondering how long before he screws up and gets suspended again leaving us in the lurch.

Not to mention the bashing Jerry threads that would need moderated.

The thread title should read "Josh Gordon is likely on his way out of the NFL".

You won't see me complaining about going all in during Romo's last years.

And all those dismissing the idea would quickly change their tune if this happened. Suddenly Gordon would be an outstanding human being who is just misunderstood.

No... He would still be a turd just like I thought TO was a turd the whole time he was here... Difference is that Gordon is a mouse fart away from being banned for life.

He sniffs mouse fart's, too? I didn't even know that was against league policy.

First of all he says he didn't say that. Second, its more about not being involved on a team that is struggling. That wouldn't be the same problem here.

So he didn't play in the second half because the team was struggling and he wasn't involved?.... ok if you say so

I don't want him in Dallas, he is the essential free agent just looking for a pay day and don't earn it. Build through the draft. Look what rookie QRs did this season. ... much better

The problem with players like Gordon is that you inevitably end up relying on them. And at that point, he's bound to let you down.

The talent is too good to pretend he'd be some spare-part backup that, if suspended, we could just move right along. No, he'd work his way into the starting lineup, add a dimension to the offense, and then, boom, he's suspended.

The talent says yes, but that's a lot of baby sitting to have to worry about.

Our receiving corp. isn't the problem. Our pass rush is.
And why do people think J. Gordon is going to be dependable for the Cowboys if he hasn't been for the Browns?

I don't want Dez Bryant anywhere near Josh Gordon. Josh Gordon s a poison to any team that signs him. He will find the weak links, exploit them, and drag the team down. He is that type of player.

I wouldn't mind at all if Suh and Gordon joined Washington:)

I would very much mind.

It was not too long ago they said the same thing about Desmond Demond Bryant.

When was Dez Bryant ever suspended by the league?

The two cases are not nearly in the same universe. I get that you have a thing for Gordon, going back to last year when you advocated for trading for him, but the guy doesn't get it at all. He needs serious help for substance abuse issues, and is the very definition of unreliable.

The two cases aren't the same. There were and still might be some concern with Bryant, but he has never been suspended at the NFL level. Gordon has proven over and over that he is unreliable. Gone from Baylor, gone from Utah and suspensions with the Browns. Not close to the same as Bryant.

while we are at it, lets throw a pick for Manziel, and sign Suh and Hardy in the offseason.

The only "thing" I have for Gordon is that he's a talented and young player. Those are the type of assets you acquire on the cheap and hope you can work with. In this case he is exactly like Dez and Ro for that matter.

This line of thinking would have caused the Cowboys to pass on Dez Bryant.

You'd be right in a lot of cases, but there are instances of it going the other way too. All I'm saying is the state of the team warrants getting as aggressive as possible to give the QB every chance to win.

People keep chirping about the defense. Yeah, I'd like defense too but this is about opportunity.

Yes they are the same. Young talented players who you can acquire at a discount.

In fact...we made a larger investment in Dez coming out of school than we'd have to make in any hypothetical Gordon acquisition.

Yes. I don't understand what people don't get. Any opportunity you have to take a low risk high reward move in the NFL...or in life...you...should.

Instead people are happy to label people they have never met as thugs and losers and poison and cancers. I always find that behavior a bit disgusting. But that's just me.

It's purely hypothetical, but if they could sign Gordon to some sort of contract with conditions that his salary gets waived if he gets in trouble, suspended, etc. then I'd be all for it.

Our WR corp isn't all that stable. Dez is a freak but we don't really know what Williams is yet. Or maybe this is what he is. In that case, he's a marginal 2 in the league. Beasley is great but limited. Harris regressed as a receiver. Street is a non factor rookie.

Now Williams and Street could blossom giving the Cowboys great depth, but it could also go the other way. So a WR addition needs to be considered. Stockpile them like the Packers do.
