Julius Jones Can Be Easily Replaced In The Draft

Here's plan C

Hope Lynch falls, if he falls enough, draft him, or trade up at most 3 spots to take him. (or don't trade up at all, fine either way.) If he does, we're set. If he doesn't, we still have Julius, and we know we'll at least be average next year.

And there's a good many things that are worse than average.

They say Lynch is good. I wouldn't know. But if "they" are right, and "he" is there, I'll throw another 2004 inspired tantrum if we pass him up.

Unless it's for Dwayne Bowe. I'm torn.
I think there are 3 teams ahead of us who would take Lynch. Pittsburgh, Denver, and Green Bay.

I am not into the mortgage the future plans myself.

What would you trade him for?

Use our number 1 pick to fill the hole we'd soon be creating? Is that you "brilliant" strategy?

Do something you haven't done yet - provide an answer.

No, you haven't provided anything.

Merely complaining about Jones and pulling out your handy draft guide.

What "insight" there.

You never mentioned any draft pick. You haven't given a solid idea for "improving" the team.

In fact you've never mentioned anything relevant in any way.

Way to go Marv.....

Keep touting the company line my man. :lmao2:

Bottom line is you continue to have your facts wrong on what I posted. I've given you 2 chances to prove to say something I did not, and you have ignored. Therefore its a waste of time to discuss this further with you.
Don't be shocked if your boy JuJones is gone by draft day and one of the names I actually mentioned is signed. I'll still be around if that happens, the question is will you? Oh BTW, all any of us has to go by at this point is our handy draft guide, so don't preach to me about how somehow that doesn't qualify as backup for my stated opinion.
It seems to me, that you ride the fence around here and whatever way the prevailing wind blows, you will gladly jump on.

Good.

Then we have an accord.

I give up, there is no satisfying you. Let's just stick with JuJones and watch him run into the back of his guards and fall to the field.

Jones could proabably be replaced in the third our fourth round if push came to shove. All this love for Jones baffles me. Face it, Jones will be gone either this year or next, take your pick.

Check out the following link if you want to review all the prospects for yourself... http://www.gbnreport.com/2007prospects.html. I'm not going to spoon feed you every single one of them. The information is readily available for all to research, provided they have an open mind.

I think many on this board become to emotionally attached to our players and therefore overrate them. I too thought Jones was going to be special at one point. Sadly, I was mistaken.
You know, all of that could be said so much easier.

"I don't have a plan, I just want to piss and moan."

See how much easier that was? It's not like I didn't know this already.

How come you don't take into consideration that maybe, just mabe, the Cowboys oline has sucked for a few years now? That might have something to do with the production of a running back, right?

Remember, football is a team sport...if the oline sucks, Dorsett could not get through a hole...

One player, Jones, does not make the whole picture look bad...

I have considered that 5Stars, but you can't put it all on the OL. Besides the constant nagging injuries JuJones always has does nothing to help my opinon on just how valuable he is to this team.

What does CFL All-Star QB & two time Grey Cup winner Ricky Ray have to do with this discussion?

Nothing ...... this discussion should be kept about players that do have NFL talent ....

Gee, yet another great contribution by our man Stash. At least I take a stand my friend, versus riding the popular sentiments of the day around here. :lmao2:
You took a stand? Where?

Oh I forgot, you're done with me.

Well, that was a wasted thought.
what needs a change on this team? it seems like you are satisfied with whatever the boys have. what don't you like or what would you change on this roster?

I guess your style of debate could be used to defend any player on this team tough and nail and attempt to discredit the guy with an opposing view. You asked for specifics, I provide you with names and a link and you piss on those facts stating they are not good enough for you. Whatever guy. Like I said I give up in debating this with you.
The good news for you is your got guys like Stasheroo who will always have your back. LOL.
Just remember, we all are looking for the same thing, we just have different opinions as to what is needed to get there.
Make it a great day.

L A R G E! Couldn't have said it better myself...oh wait I did...see my response to Hostile. :lmao:

Peterson and Lynch are the only two backs a reasonable person can claim will definitly be better then JJ. Now- prophet who is not- if you can find someone else YOU CAN PROVE IS BETTER THEN JJ then do it. Otherwise shut up.

Who's to say that the next guy might be unfortunate in the NFL (not college) where players are bigger and faster, and not come down with the same "nagging injuries"?

Every NFL player is walking around with injuries, that's just part of the game...you are not going to find a "robot" that will never get injured. If I remember correctly, Jones has had 2 significant injuries that cost him some time...big deal, so what?

I just don't understand why you would want to get rid of someone that is still young and learning the game, to pick up some other younger guy that has no clue what the NFL is about, have to teach him all over again and not expect to have a decline in team production? It's just does not make sense!

Now, if Jones was a REAL scrub, or he was getting old, then it might be time to worry about the running back position...but right now? Seems pretty foolish to me...

Here's the deal.

I never quoted you as saying Jones would be traded for a 3rd round draft choice.

That's giving you too much credit.

The fact is that you never said anything.

You merely pissed and moaned about how mediocre you feel Jones is - and that's all you did.

So did you just let your "brilliant idea" slip out?

Is it to use the Cowboys' first round draft pick to replace Jones and then trade him for a lesser pick?

Is that your plan?

Take a stand.
